"Ipaglaban mo nang puspusan ang pananampalataya. Panghawakan mong mabuti ang buhay na walang hanggan, dahil diyan ka tinawag ng Diyos nang ipahayag mo sa harap ng maraming saksi ang iyong pananalig kay Cristo." I Tim. 6:12

Iglesia ni Cristo vs. Bible Baptist Church debate

Here is a classic video uploaded in youtube, the debate of Iglesia ni Cristo represented by Bro. Jose Ventilation and Bible Baptist Church represented by Mr. Salamatin held at Palawan, Philippines in Nov. 1995.

The topic were "Prove that Christ is the true God" for Mr. Salamatin and "Prove that Jesus Christ is a man and not God" for Bro. Ventilation.

See how the baptist minister wanted to "back out" on the last part of the debate...

Here is the video:

Thanks to Bro. Bonto for sharing the link!^^

    1. You said:

"the Church of Christ was not specify as Church of Christ or Inc"

You already admitted that there is "CHURCH OF CHRIST". It is the name of Christ's Church, not baptist church, catholic church, and etc... You should also better know the truth why CHURCH OF CHRIST is the name of CHRIST'S TRUE CHURCH before you judge us. Baptist Church trace back its root from Protestantism, from Martin Luther, not to Jesus Christ.

I am not surprised why your church is named BAPTIST CHURCH, not of Christ.

  4. Patrick Botalon,

    I have questions to you:

    1. How many do you think Baptist denominations now exist in the world?
(Good luck if you can give the exact figure...because I think it is still counting?....)

    2. What are the reasons for their divisions?

Hanggang panunuligsa na lang kayo pero pag harap-harapan, TAKOT KAYO for simple reason: YOU WILL BE UNMASKED NA MGA BULAAN ANG MGA TAGAPANGARAL NINYO.

INC is NEVER BEEN (and will never be!) afraid of public debate following the steps of the Apostles defending the true faith. If we accept a public debate challenge, winning the battle is of God but the main objective is to enlighten the opponent and all the truth-searching audience/public that thru such debate they may call also in the true Church, the Church of Christ.

    2. Sagot: Opo.
      Bakit?

- Gawa 2:35, ADB (1905)

    1. Patrick Botalon,

Just please answer my questions directly. Because I am really really dying to know if you can give me the currrent exact figures of DIFFERENT DENOMINATIONS of Baptist Churches. And, what do you think are the reasons for their divisions? Then, you claim that Baptists received "wisdom from God"? Because that is my problem reading your claim, you want to share your so-called truth yet this "truth of yours" or this "wisdom of yours" has kept causing schisms among you. What could be the reasons for this? Answer that rather than making a speech. I want to read it directly from you.

And, may I add, we are not angry at you...don't flatter yourself. Cut that drama. Just go straight to the point because until now I have not heard any "truth" coming out directly from you mouth...but all these annoying melodramas.

So, what is this TRUTH? and please, use the Bible not your own useless philosophies which a Baptist enjoys. FYI, I also used to attend Baptist BS before. In fact, the first sect I studied when I started to doubt my faith in Catholicism. That is to give you an idea that I am not ignorant about the different and conflicting beliefs of Baptists.

      So, bring it on!

The Baptism of John The Baptist, and we know dat d authority were gven to John before Christ. Therefore those who believe n Christ wer baptize in Acts 2:41, take note those who already received His word, it means who already saved and afterward baptized, Jesus Christ hmself were baptized wth John the Baptist,if we go on frther study in 1Corinthians 15:1-4 what apostle paul did also accept is the Gospel of Salvation. regarding by works to obtain salvation, actualy it s not essential 4 salvation as apostle paul said n acts 11, its should not a dead faith as apostle james said n d book of james, he stated about on what u believe it should b manifest n d world to seen by men in order for them to believed,he talking about testimony, "in the form of Godliness but denying the power thereof.

    1. Hi there Patrick,

Thanks for your quick reply. Hope ur doing fine today.

      >>if im not mistaken, ako ung unang nagtanng sau ,and dont u worry i wl answer ur question after u answer mine!

Which one? Please ask me again if you don’t mind.

      >> what baptism did Christ accepted? and the Baptism of John, was it frm men or from heaven?, from state authority or frm heaven's authority? and dont u ever use tagalog or any other book, use KJbible!

Why are you asking me of these things? It is you who boastfully claimed that you received a wisdom from God yet what you have done so far is just making a speech without any proofs that indeed the Baptist Church or better to say Baptist Churches ARE THE TRUE CHURCHES! So tell me this “wisdom of yours that according to you, you have received from God”. Share it with us if you don’t mind. Of course, should be supported by the Bible and let us examine if indeed this wisdom of yours come from God. But I am sure whatever you have in store are already tackled in this blog.

      >> den if u wl going to study personaly those follower of Christ and even d Apostles and those who live after them and d martyrdom of Christ wer Baptized of one authority.

Dear, I don’t study the Bible “personally” because I am not a messenger. Only the true messenger can teach the pure gospel of God (Romans 10:15). That is the problem with Baptists, in their gatherings, they read one or two verses and all the attendees give their own personal interpretations/understandings of the passages. The aftermath, they give glory to their WORLDLY WISDOM (rather than arriving to the truth and glorify God with it). That is not an accusation, I DID IT BEFORE.

      >>The Baptism of John The Baptist, and we know dat d authority were gven to John before Christ.

Who baptized John? Further, how did John get such authority? Did he have proof? You have the wisdom right? So, please tell me.

      >>Therefore those who believe n Christ wer baptize in Acts 2:41, take note those who already received His word, it means who already saved and afterward baptized,

Where did they do the baptism? To where they are belong to when they are baptized? In other words, Who are those considered truly baptized IN CHRIST?

      >> Jesus Christ hmself were baptized wth John the Baptist,

Where in the Bible can you read this?

      >>if we go on frther study in 1Corinthians 15:1-4 what apostle paul did also accept is the Gospel of Salvation. regarding by works to obtain salvation, actualy it s not essential 4 salvation as apostle paul said n acts 11, its should not a dead faith as apostle james said n d book of james, he stated about on what u believe it should b manifest n d world to seen by men in order for them to believed,he talking about testimony, "in the form of Godliness but denying the power thereof.

1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 says, “Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,”

Please enlighten me, what is the connection of the above passage to our topic – baptism? The above passage is all about HOLDING FIRMLY TO THE TRUTH which I am sorry to say Baptists don’t have otherwise they would not be divided.

      Awaiting your reply.

  7. Patrick,

There you are again..making speech without proving your "KAHALALAN". IYAN ANG PATUNAYAN MO from the Bible. You cannot even read in the Bible the name of your Church then you claim to be the true one? Think.

  8. as i have told you before but you hv notbelieved on what d scripture has said. the baptism of john is from heaven's authority, and how can u believe me when ur not holding the bible and not going to study it, if im going to gv u some verse how cn u believe unless u hv d bible. d Holy spirit of God wl gvs u wisdom as i have, Matt.chapter 3, Jesus was in ds verse baptized wth John .The authority was gven to John before in Isaiah 40:3 and its fulfilled n Matthew 3:1-3, d Baptist were called believer or bible believer ,desciples before they were called Christians in Antioch. They gathered together reading the scriptures. my friend use d Bible f u want to enlighten ur mind, actually what i asked. u before was Christ question among the chief priest and elders who mocking and tempting him.Mark 11 whole chapter for frther study. If u wl understand y d Baptist also hv a bible is dat you might able to know the truth by the leading of d Holy Spirit ,He wl tell you all the truth as Jesus gave to the Apostles and they begun to do great miracles including speaking odn tongues, ds need to be done because d scripture must need to complete tl to d last Apostle John in Revelation. ds was d law and it should be read by every people by guiding them by the Holy Spirit of God, we dont need any prophet or Apostle now like in d Old testament because when Chris glorified he gave us d Holy Spirit to interpret hs word, and ds is d work of d Holy Spirit. if u have a KJBible or AV lets talk about more and be saved. u hv mentioned dat u attended a Baptist BS before but i think untl nw u did not understand clearly what the Grace of God can do to u. ds would b my last comment ,if u have mre question lets talk about it personally ,i gv u my no. if u r really interested about on salvation's matter and to be burned in eternal lake of fire. text me and i wl wling to reply. May God bless u!

  9. Patrick,

It is you who is not holding a Bible because all you do is just MAKING A SPEECH! (Kulit)
Why am I sure that you are not holding a Bible, because YOU HAVE NOT ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS CLEARLY FROM THE BIBLE. Itagalog ko kaya para mas maintindihan mo:

    1. SAAN GINAGAWA ANG BAUTISMO?
    2. SAAN NAKAPALOOB ANG MGA NABAUTISMUHAN.

SAGUTIN MO YAN MULA SA BIBLIYA.

    3. KAHIT SINU-SINO LANG BA ANG MAY KARAPATANG GUMAWA NG BANAL NA BAUTISMO?

Hayan, may dagdag pa na isa para naman ganahan kang sumagot...WITH VERSES FROM THE BIBLE ha...hindi yong para kang sirang plaka paulit-ulit na puro sarili mong paliwanag ang ginagawa. Tapos parang nagmamalaki ka na MAY HAWAK KANG BIBLIYA? Saan?

Christ was baptized by John not WITH John, that's why I was asking you: WHO BAPTIZED JOHN? Read your post all over again, parang IKAW ANG HINDI NAKAKAINTINDI SA PINO-POST MO dear :)

So you cited John's case, right? E kayo, MAY PATOTOO BA KAYO SA BIBILYA? Iyan ang tanong ko na INIIWASAN MO. Apostle Paul also had, and so our Lord Jesus Christ. In this blog, we have proven so many times that Bro. Felix Y. Manalo also have. HOW ABOUT YOU? Do you have? ANSWER THAT.

Mas maganda kung pumunta ka sa pinakamalapit na Lokal ng INC sa lugar niyo and give INC a chance. That's what I did. Stop being stubborn before it's too late. Kaya nga ako umalis diyan dahil HINDI TOTOO ANG ARAL NA ITINATAGUYOD NG BAPTIST, tantamount to say that it is a FALSE RELIGION. Kaya nga kayo nagkakawatak-watak because your leaders have their OWN PERSONAL INTERPRETATIONS OF THE BIBLE which is NOT SUPRISING dahil HINDI NAMAN SILA MGA SINUGO.

Contrary to you belief, the Bible is not an open book to anyone. Only those who are sent (or authorized by God) can preach the Gospel of the Lord (Romans 10:15).

Pag sumagot ka uli na para akong nagbabasa ng essay, don't wonder if I ignore you at once.
    Kasi,walang kapupuntahan ang usapan natin.

    1. excuse po pwedeng makisingit kasi ako po nagbabasa ng biblia., sinabi na nga po ni patrick sa taas., The authority was gven to John before in Isaiah 40:3 sino ba nag bibigay ng authority di ba ang makapangayarihan sa lahat? pero ganun talaga., hindi lahat nakakaintindi nga may sinasabi na slow learner.,

      Delete
    2. Mark Deby,
