Is there a "GOD"?

We should be aware that not all people in the world believe in a "God". These people are Atheists, Agnostics, Freethinkers, Skeptics, non-religious and so on. On a survey:

"As of 2000, approximately 53% of the world's population identifies with one of the three primary Abrahamic religions (33% Christian, 20% Islam, <1% Judaism), 6% with Buddhism, 13% with Hinduism, 6% with traditional Chinese religion, 7% with various other religions, and less than 15% as non-religious." source: wikipedia

Almost 15% on world's population if not they are non-religious, they do not believe in god. I just dont understand why there are people who do not believe on a "CREATOR" because the very proof of a "creator" is ourselves.


I think the reasons why they do not believe in a god were:

-They believe on scientists about the "big bang theory"
-They lost their faith in God
-They lost their faith on religions that caused them confusions
-Before concluding God do not exist, they first doubt his existence because of some matters
-Others are just really non-religious or not interested on religions (as most religions teaches about God/gods)
-and etc.

I want to answer the question "Is there a God?" on my own opinion for now.

As you may not know, even the oldest known religion in the world which is Hinduism(dates back in the late Neolithic period 5500–2600 BCE source: wikipedia) believe in God/gods. While the oldest religious belief which is Animism/shamanism (dates back as early as paleolithic period source: wikipedia) may not believe in the "God" that we Christians know, but they believe on something bigger or higher than them, which believes there is a [are] creator/s or powerful beings.

To those people who do not believe in a God or creator my suggestion is this: try to have a bible of muslims or jews or Christians, even though the said religions have different interpretation about "God", it is the BEST PROOF or EVIDENCE that there is a God. I understand those people who do not believe in God, mainly because they do not believe in the bible. Believe in the bible so that you will believe God's existence, whether the bible of Jews or Christians it doesnt matter because all of those are recorded history about God.


My own "proofs" about God's existence:

Impossible things that happen
How can scientists explain things impossible to happen or happened impossibly? Like for example, a stage 4 cancer patient unbelievably survived without taking any medicine or treatment, something like that. Will you believe its because of earth's nature and whatsoever? How about miracles like for example, a man jumped on a 10th floor building but survived? Is it because of the of earth's nature and whatsoever? and so on...


"Life" still not explained how it originated
As we all know, there are theories made by scientists about how life originated, but still there is no one can explain it surely. Would you believe a single cell or organism or DNA and whatsoever will result humans? animals? and dinosaurs? insects? and so on... if this is true then i hope i can see a human came into being elsewhere in the world without being born by his/her mother, but by a combination of matter or cell and whatsoever.

Frankly speaking, i do believe in the bible but i also believe Charles Darwin's evolution theory. I believe on his theory because all matters evolve, like animals, a dog doesnt come into existence being a dog, but they are domesticated wolves as well as cats, they are domesticated wildcats. We humans doesnt came into existence as what we look like right now, but humans evolved as how a baby learn new things step by step.

Science doesnt contradict the bible, as we know, the earth doesnt came into existence with animals, plants and humans in one time, but started step by step. First were universe, then planets (and etc.), water, soil, organisms, plants/trees, animals and LASTLY HUMANS.

The bible also tells us in the book of Genesis about his creation, first were the heavens and earth, then light (and etc.), water, soil, plants/trees, animals, and LASTLY HUMANS.

Do you ever ask yourself why the only place in the universe which is the planet earth where LIFE exist? While if you will search the universe, its like its endless... If there is no creator and only nature does these all then it would be possible that there are places and planets where LIFE can exist.


EVERYTHING is in proper place and order
We surely believe that there is a creator or God because everything is in proper order. What do you think if we came into existence without small and big intestine or liver or bladder and so on... do you think we can survive? What do you think if our feet is in our head? or our eyes is in our butt? or our private organ is in our face and so on... do you think we can still live normally? What do you think will happen if the first thing came into existence were humans, meaning soil, water, plants/trees and animals still doesnt exist... do you think we can survive? What do you think will happen if the only existing animal were lions, without a predator and prey then it would numbered humans and will hunt humans for food.

Its very obvious that there is a designer or planner or creator of all these things, because if there is none, then all living things in the world would be in trouble. Have you realized that planets do not bump against each other? and how they fly without wings? and that they do not fly outside the solar system? and so on... Why do you think is that? Science can explain how all these things originated (like universe), but science cannot determine who created these.


EVERYTHING has its own purpose
What do you think if we all born without eyes, nose, ears and mouth, do you think we can survive? What do you think will happen if there will be no animals, can we survive? What do you think will happen if Ninoy Aquino or Jose Rizal did not die, do you think Filipinos will do some action for freedom? and so on...

All things on earth has purpose. We have fingers to use for work, ears to hear, nose to smell, eyes to see, mouth to eat. We have sun and moon, nights and days to make it balance, we have water to drink, air to breath and so on... Meaning, there is an intelligent creator who created all these things in purpose, to make each other useful and in function.


HUMANS are greater than any living things
If its true that there is no one created us, then i hope i can see any living thing like animals or organisms and whatsoever that has the same level of thinking or intelligence with that of humans. If we all are created with a combination of matter and energy and whatsoever then it is possible that there is another group of living things that have the same level of how humans think.

But the question is, IS THERE ANY? NONE. its a fact. There are animals who have high level of thinking but cannot level and surpass as to how humans think, like monkeys and dolphins.

This is what written in Genesis 1:26,28:

"Then God said, “Now let’s make humans who will be like us. They will rule over all the fish in the sea and the birds in the air. They will rule over all the large animals and all the little things that crawl on the earth... ...God blessed them and said to them, “Have many children. Fill the earth and take control of it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the air. Rule over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

In the bible, it is said that Humans are created to rule over on every living thing on earth, meaning, HUMANS are greater than any other. But if one insist that there is no God, then it would be possible that it is not humans who will be greater than all, maybe a group of animals and so on...

These are just some of my reasons why we should believe that there is a "God" who created all things. But many may ask, "If God created all these, who created God?"

My answer is this: There is no need for a CREATOR be CREATED. God is ETERNAL, and no beginning. So, if there are things (like universe) who have a beginning therefore it was a creation.

Does the universe have a beginning? yes. scientists estimated the age of the universe as 13.75 ± 0.17 billion years (source: wikipedia) Therefore, the universe is created and there is a GOD or CREATOR of all things!

You can search more on search engines about a more comprehensive and detailed proofs about God's existence. By the way, i have found a good explanation and proofs about god's existence, here it is:

1.Uncaused cause

Malamang alam naman nating lahat ang cause and effect, diba? Masasabing categorical ang idea na lahat ng effects ay may cause. May gumawa sa lahat ng bagay. May gumawa sa computer na gamit mo ngayon..at meron ding gumawa sa gumawa ng computer na gamit mo ngayon and so on. Every cause from a long line has also a corresponding cause before it. Kung ganito ibig sabihin, magiging infinite siya..at kung infinite siya..wala siyang patutunguhan, walang saysay, walang kwenta. So kelangan siyang maging finite. Hindi naman pwedeng manggaling ang isang bagay sa wala. Narinig mo na ba yung phrase na “out of nothing comes nothing”? Parang yun yung sinasabi ni Thomas Aquinas… lahat ng bagay may pinagmulan and dito na papasok si “God” ng mga Kristiyano… Yun ang sinasabi ni Thomas Aquinas. Na si “God” ang gumawa ng lahat pero walang gumawa sa kanya. Uncaused cause. Dito na rin lumilitaw ang konsepto ng Creation ayon kay Thomas Aquinas. “Creatio ex nihilo”… Creation out of nothing.

2. Unmoved mover.

Kung susuriin mo, parang pareho ito sa unang proof ni Thomas Aquinas. Pero ang kaibahan nito, motion ang basehan ngayon instead of cause. Bakit may motion? Kasi, everything is in constant flux…everything is changing. [or yung potency to act ] Yung laruang puppet hindi gagalaw kung walang magpapagalaw sa kanya, at yun naman nagpapagalaw sa puppet na yun (syempre yung tao) ay may nagpapagalaw din. Ang nagpapagalaw sa tao ay ang kanyang soul (or anima) kaya animal ang tawag natin sa tao dahil may nagpapagalaw sa kanya. Again, it’s a series of movers which are moved by other movers. Another case of infinity nanaman ‘to. So at the end, God moves everything but nothing moves him. Kaya unmoved mover. Wala siyang potentiality pero siya ay “all actuality”. Dito na magsisimula ang ideya ni Aquinas na perfect si God. Kasi nga wala daw siyang potentialities (imperfections).


3. Necessity and Dependency (contingency)

Ok, ganito na lang ah.. Para hindi mahirap intindihin… Paano natin mapapatunayan na nagexist na ang mga bagay-bagay bago pa man tayo nagexist dito sa planetang ito?Yun! Dito na ngayon pumapasok ang concept ng necessary at dependent beings. Ayon kay Aquinas, we are the dependent beings na naka-depend ang existence to something that has already been existing bago pa man tayo mag-exist. Kuha? Si “God” ang sinasabi niyang “Necessary Being” na ito (independent )…kasi nga hindi niya binabase ang kanyang existence sa existence ng iba. Kuha niyo? Dito nabubuo ang relationship na tinatawag nating contingency. Ang particular na proof na ito ni Aquinas ang kumokontra sa argument ng materialism na nagsasabing “God” exists because man conceives Him in his mind.


4. Proof of perfection.

Eto namang pang-apat, para madali niyong maintindihan, kelangan malaman niyo muna na meron tayong tinatawag na “Categories of Being”… ito yung truth, good at beauty… Lahat ng nageexist ay merong mga ganito. Hindi ka matatawag na “Being” kung hindi ka nageexist. Right? Hence, lahat ng nageexist ay tunay, mabuti at maganda. Pero lahat tayo ay merong magkakaibang.uhm…sabihin na lang nating “level” ng tatlong categories na nabanggit ko. Kaya may iba na mas maganda kumpara sa iba, merong mas gwapo kesa sa iba… Ito ang patunay na walang bobo at pangit sa mundo. Nagkakaiba lang tayo ng “level”. So, ang tanong ngayon, bakit nga ba tayo nagkakaiba? At isa lang ang sagot diyan ayon kay Aquinas at ito ay dahil nga hindi tayo perpekto…at kung hindi tayo perpekto…may potentials pa rin tayo. Hindi tayo definite. To judge what is more or less true, good and beautiful demands a standard of “Perfection”. Parang isang Protocol. Ganun…kuha niyo? Kung merong hindi perfect, kelangan meron isang perfect. Para may basehan tayong standard. Ayun, dito nanaman pumapasok si “God” ayon kay Aquinas… Perfect daw siya. All true, all good and all beautiful. Perfect nga talaga! O yung tinatawag na Absolute Being.


5. Proof from design

Ayon kay Aquinas, anuman ang masasabi nating “design” ay gawa ng isang matalinong nilalang. Kung titignan mong mabuti ang ang tao, ang kambing, ang kamatis, ang putik, ang puno, ang buong planetang ito…at iba pang “Beings”, masasabi mo na sila ay mga “disensyo”. At ang mga disenyong ito ay hindi nagagawa ng pangkaraniwang tao lamang ayon kay Aquinas. Sino ngayon ang designer? Kung ibabase natin ang tanong na iyan, sa apat na naunang mga proofs…alam na natin ang sagot. Tanong din iyan ni Albert Einstein nung nabuo niya ang Law of Relativity. Nakabuo man siya ng Physics Law ng light, motion, place and time…meron siyang tanong na hindi niya kayang maipaliwanag…sino ang gumawa ng light?? Yun ang point ni Aquinas…dun nanaman pumapasok si “God” ng mga Kristiyano… ^^
