King James Bible
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
King James 2000 Bible
And without doubt great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
American King James Version
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Darby Bible Translation
And confessedly the mystery of piety is great. God has been manifested in flesh, has been justified in the Spirit, has appeared to angels, has been preached among the nations, has been believed on in the world, has been received up in glory.
Webster's Bible Translation
And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
World English Bible
Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
Young's Literal Translation
and, confessedly, great is the secret of piety -- God was manifested in flesh, declared righteous in spirit, seen by messengers, preached among nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory!

"God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?" Numbers 23:19
"And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret." 1 Samuel 15:29
"I will not execute my burning anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim; for I am God and not a man, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath." Hosea 11:9
"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." John 4:24
"See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” Luke 24:39

And, beyond controversy, great is the mystery of our religion-- that Christ appeared in human form, and His claims justified by the Spirit, was seen by angels and proclaimed among Gentile nations, was believed on in the world, and received up again into glory.
“By the pronoun He with which the hymn opens, is to be understood, Christ. The Greek reading which underlies the AV translation ‘GOD’ is almost certainly wrong…” Bruce, F.F., General edition: The International Bible Commentary. Grand Rapids, Michigan: Zondervan Publishing House, 1986.
“3:16 The earliest Greek texts have “He” rather than “GOD”. The six phrases which follow appear to be a quotation from an early Christian hymn…” Criswell, W.A., Ph.D., ed. The Criswell Study bible, Nashville: Thomas Nelson, Pubs., 1979
“… The best manuscripts read, ‘Who’, referring to Christ. He was justified by the way the Spirit worked in him.” The Westminister Study Edition of the holy Bible. Philadelphia: The westminister press, 1968
“The context makes it plain that Paul is referring to Christ when he says: He who was manifest in the flesh (ASV)… All the leading words occur elsewhere in Paul’s writings. Flesh. Paul frequently emphasizes the humanity of Christ by the use of his word (Rom. 1:3; 8:3; 9:5, Eph 5:15, Col. 1:22, Heb. 5:7; 10:20)…” Pfeiffer, Charles F. and Everette F. Harrison, eds. Is Christ the "God" who is overall in Romans 9:5?
Christ is God believers believes that Romans 9:5 is a proof that he is indeed God.
This is what different bible translations says:
The question is, are those bible translations that refer to Christ as the "GOD" who is over all that should be blessed forever, CORRECT?
If we will accept the understanding that it is Christ who is the "GOD" based on this verse, doesnt it CONTRADICT other verses?
Does Apostle Paul really recognize Christ as GOD?
The GOD of Apostle Paul
He said:
Apostle Paul BELIEVE that the ONE GOD of his and us is but the FATHER.
He BELIEVE that there is ONE GOD, and ONE MEDIATOR of God and men who is Jesus Christ, A HUMAN:
If the FATHER is our ONE GOD, and Christ, as what Apostle Paul said is a human, COULD HE BE A GOD ALSO? If that will be the case, then did Apostle Paul lie because he said that FOR US there is but ONE GOD, the FATHER? How can be a "GOD" be a mediator between his self and human beings?
There are more verses in the bible that shows that Apostle Paul recognize ONE GOD, and that is the FATHER.
Is Christ the "GOD" who is OVERALL that should be BLESSED?
Let us ask Apostle Paul, Good day Apostle Paul, i will just ask you something, do you really BELIEVE that it is Jesus Christ, the son of God, is the GOD who is OVER ALL?
This is what Apostle Paul answered:
Apostle Paul said again that there is ONE GOD and Father of all, This "Father" is the "ONE GOD" WHO IS OVER ALL.
He also said that Christ (a human, based on Apostle Paul) will be subjected to God so that GOD MAYBE ALL IN ALL:
If it is now CLEAR to us that it is GOD, THE FATHER who is OVER ALL and not Christ, who is the GOD that should be BLESSED?
Let us ask again Apostle Paul, and this is his answer:
Apostle Paul said that it is the GOD AND FATHER of our Lord Jesus, the "GOD" who is OVERALL that should be BLESSED.
Is Christ the "GOD" in Romans 9:5?
While maybe most bible translations refer Christ as the "GOD" who is over all, there are still some bible translations and versions that does not refer Christ as the "GOD" in the said verse.
Revised Standard Version:
Today's English Version:
Moffatt Translation:
New English Bible:
What they say about translations that Christ is referred as God in Romans 9:5...
"This half verse has been the center of interminable controversy. The issue appears from a comparison of our two English texts. Is God over all, be blessed forever (or the one who is over all, God blessed forever) a phrase in apposition with "Christ" and belonging in the same sentence as the rest of vs.5 (so the KJV and the RSV mg.), or is this phrase grammatically separate, a doxology to God at the end of the recital of the privileges of Israel (so the RSV and most modern translators?) The question cannot be answered on the basis of Greek since it is a matter almost entirely punctuation and Greek MSS in the early period were not punctuated." "...but the choice is probably to be made between the KJV and the RSV translations. The majority of modern commentators favor the latter because of the unlikehood of Paul's having here referred to Christ as 'God'." (The Interpreter's bible, vol. 9 p.540)
"Although there are strong grammatical arguments to the contrary, the UBS textual committee prefers the reading represented in the TEV, principally on the basis that Paul elsewhere never calls Christ God. Mos modern English translations prefer the rendering represented in the TEV (so RSV, NEB, NAB, Goodspeed, Moffatt)." (A Translator's Handbook on Paul's letter to the Romans, p. 180)
"It should be added that Rom. 9:5 cannot be adduced to prove that Paul ever thought of Christ as God. The state of the case is found in the R.V. margin…He [Paul] never leaves the ground of Jewish monotheism. It has been pointed out that Rom. 9:5 cannot be brought in to question this statement. On the contrary, God is spoken of by the Apostle as not only the Father, but also the God of our Lord Jesus Christ” (The Doctrine of the Trinity, pp. 34-36.)
Meaning, Romans 9:5 cannot be a proof that Christ is the "GOD" WHO IS OVER ALL because it is Christ himself that says that the ONLY and TRUE GOD that WE SHOULD KNOW is the FATHER:

Kapag ba sinabi mong gusto mong maglakad, kailangan mo pang sabihing ayaw mong tumakbo?

Jesus is God because he is savior?
Many nonmembers asks that if God the Father is savior and so Jesus Christ, why do we need him (Christ) if we already have the Father as savior? so how can a ‘man’ give salvation? If he is a savior therefore Christ is God!
It is true that God the Father is savior (Isaiah 45:21-22) and that Jesus Christ is also savior (John 4:42; Eph. 5:23). However, to assume that Christ is also God because he is savior is to ignore the teachings of the holy scriptures on how he became savior:
“It was Jesus, a descendant of David, whom God made the savior of the people of Israel, as he had promised” Acts 13:23
“Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.” Acts 5:31
Clearly therefore that Christ is savior because he was exalted and made such by God. Now, if christ’s being made savior made him god, then comes the absurd conclusion that Christ became God because he was made such by another God.
The holy scriptures also teaches that Christ himself indeed needed salvation from God (Heb. 5:7). Could this have meant that one God “offered up prayers and supplications” to another God “who was able to save him from death?” Surely not, as this directly contradicts the doctrine of the bible that “there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things” (I Cor. 8:6).
To further ask, “Why do we need Jesus if we already have the Father for Salvation?” and “How can a man (jesus) give salvation?” is to overlook, to say the least, biblical pronouncements on the manner through which the Father will grant salvation. The Father, who alone is God (John 17:1,3), will give salvation through “the man” He has ordained, Jesus Christ. The bible explains, thus:
“And now—all glory to him who alone is God, who saves us through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Jude 1:24)
“because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”” Acts 17:31
As Jesus was ordained or appointed to be “the man” through whom God will judge the world, it is him (Christ) who will come on the “end of the age” (Matt. 24:3) to bring judgment on all (Jude 1:14-15). Jesus will grant salvation or the right to “inherit the kingdom” to his sheep (Matt. 25:31-34) or the members of his church (John 10:16, Acts 20:28 Lamsa translation, Eph. 5:23) because God gave him the authority to give eternal life(John 17:2). Indeed, Christ become savior by virtue of the authority given to him by the Father.
And as regards the nature of Christ’s being, the bible explicitly declares of Him through whom salvation is to be found:
“...Jesus of Nazareth was a man whose divine authority was clearly proven to you by all miracles and wonders which God performed through him...”
“Salvation is to be found through him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us” Acts 2:22, 4:12
