"Ipaglaban mo nang puspusan ang pananampalataya. Panghawakan mong mabuti ang buhay na walang hanggan, dahil diyan ka tinawag ng Diyos nang ipahayag mo sa harap ng maraming saksi ang iyong pananalig kay Cristo." I Tim. 6:12

2014 is Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial Year

The President declared 2014 as the Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial Year in the Philippines.

Manila Bulletin has the details:

In recognition of its contribution to national development, President Benigno S. Aquino III has issued Proclamation No. 815 declaring the year 2014 as “Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial Year.”
The President also authorized the creation of an inter-agency task force to ensure smooth and safe observance of the religious group’s centennial celebration on July 27.
“In order to enhance awareness of its contributions in national development, it is appropriate that the occasion be marked and commemorated by declaring 2014 as Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial Year,” the proclamation read.
The INC, the largest home-grown Christian church in the country established by Bro. Felix Y. Manalo, will celebrate its 100th anniversary on July 27, 2014 at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The proclamation cited that INC has made “significant contributions in bringing spiritual maturity, spreading the love of Christ and nurturing the religious life of the nation since 1914.”
“The Iglesia ni Cristo has spread its ministry in at least 102 countries, hence its centennial celebration is a worldwide event,” the proclamation read.
The same proclamation likewise directed the Postmaster General to cause the design, printing and issuance of a special stamp to commemorate the INC event.
The President also issued Memorandum Circular No. 66 creating the “Task Force Sentenaryo” for the INC centennial anniversary.
The new task force will take charge of government actions “to ensure smooth coordination among public and private sectors, maintain peace and order, ensure safety of participants and prepare a traffic management plan” during the INC event.
“The massive scale of the event is indicative of its great significance to a large number of Filipinos who are members of the INC, and who will be gathering from all over the world to take part in the INC Centennial Celebration,” the order read.
The Task Force Sentenaryo will be headed by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino.
The members of the task force are Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II, Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson, Health Secretary Enrique Ona, Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., Armed Forces chief of staff General Emmanuel Bautista, Philippine National Police Director General Alan Purisima, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Chairman Winston Ginez, Philippine Ports Authority General Manager Juan Sta. Ana, Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Jose Angel Honrado, Toll Regulatory Board Executive Director Edmundo Reyes, and a representative from the INC.
The task force may call upon any government agency, local government unit, non government organizations and the private sector for assistance.
