Lingap sa Mamamayan on Yolanda victims

Mahigit isang buwan na ang nakakaraan ng humagupit ang isa sa pinakamalakas na bagyo sa buong mundo, at unti unti nang bumabangon ang mga nasalanta ng bagyo. 

Marami buhay ang nawala at maraming ari arian ang nawasak. Marami rin tayong mga kapatid na nabiktima ng sakuna, ngunit patuloy pa rin sila sa mga pagsamba at pagtupad ng kanilang mga tungkulin, walang tigil.

Ang mga lokal ng Iglesia ni Cristo na dinaanan ng bagyo ang nagligtas ng mga buhay at ang naging pansamatalang kanlungan ng mga kababayan natin na malapit sa lokasyon doon mapa miyembro man o hindi. Kaya laking pasasalamat ng mga local government officials dahil dito, sila mismo ang saksi sa kabutihang loob na ito ng Iglesia, kaya naman isang malaking kasinungalingan ang lumabas na balitang HINDI NAGPAPASOK SA LOOB NG KAPILYA noong kasagsagan ng bagyo.

Nagsagawa naman ng LINGAP SA MAMAMAYAN ang Iglesia ni Cristo upang dagliang matulungan ang mga biktima upang magbigay ng RELIEF GOODS,  MEDICAL CHECK UP, at GAMOT. 

Isa ang Iglesia ni Cristo sa mga pinaka unang organisasyon na tumulong sa mga biktima ng bagyong Yolanda, lalo na sa mga lugar na hindi pa naabutan ng tulong.

Bukod dito, sa mag inupahang barkong magdadala sa mga truck na may lamang relief goods, ay naging instrumento din upang ang mga biktima ay makatawid sa Cebu.

Ang mga pumila ay hindi lamang binigyan ng 1 relief bags, kundi kung ilan ang kaya nilang dalhin, ang iba naman ay pabalik-balik sa pila. Kaya naman masayang masaya ang mga natulungan dahil sa iba daw eh kakaunti lang ang binibigay, pa isa-isa lang at kailangan pa daw ng ticket sa pagpila, hindi daw tulad dito sa tulong ng INC.

Nagbigay din ng tulong ang mga kapatid sa kapwa kapatid sa pananampalataya sa mga maytungkulin na nasama ang kanilang uniporme sa pantupad na naanod ng baha. Kaya laking pasasalamat ng mga kapatid na maytungkulin dahil nabigyan sila ng mga uniporme upang makatupad sila sa mga pagsamba sa Diyos.

Ang pagtulong na ito ng Iglesia ni Cristo ay walang kapalit, at ginagawa ito upang sundin ang kalooban ng ating Panginoong Diyos.

Isang news tv sa New Zealand ang nagdocument ng katunayan na talaga namang nagpapasok ang Iglesia ni Cristo sa kapilya nito sa Tacloban:

"The United Nations coordinator told 3 News today that distributing the basics remains a top priority more than a week after Typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines.

A lack of food, water, medical supplies and sanitation means water-borne illnesses are spreading.

The 3 News team has been in the Philippines for three days and the conditions are hellish, but the most devastating scenes they have witnessed are in the town of Anibong.

There, a lone palm tree stands amid the ruins, and what was a poor but industrious community is now a wasteland. Not one makeshift wooden home there stood up to the storm.

"The sea water was over here," says survivor Felix Senel as he points to his chest.

Hundreds of locals took refuge in the church up the hill, which survived the storm relatively unscathed. But dozens never made it up the hill."

Bro. Jose Ventilacion, INC minister, said contrary to some “malicious” reports, their house of worship, which was located on top of a hill in Tacloban, actually provided shelter to storm victims regardless of their religious affiliation.

“New Zealand TV reported that there were many non-Iglesia Ni Cristo members who were sheltered in the Tacloban house of worship. Not only in Tacloban, but also in other places that sought Iglesia ni Cristo for refuge,” he said during yesterday’s launch of their website www.kabayankokapatidko.org. at the historic landmark Manila Hotel.

“We do not turn them away. That’s the reason we have this Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko,” added Ventilacion.

The Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko is an INC project launched last April by INC Executive Minister Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo through an evangelical mission in Binondo, Manila. The project included a medical and dental outreach program, as well as the giving of relief packages to the “guests” invited by INC members.

Ventilacion also disclosed that the INC has been providing relief to “Yolanda” victims. “We continue to provide relief to typhoon victims,” he said.

Among the areas where the INC conducted relief operations are Ormoc, Leyte; Bogo, Cebu; Kalibo, Aklan; Capiz; Salcedo, Eastern Samar; and Hernani, Eastern Samar among others.

ORMOC City—The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) recently began its series of relief distribution and medical mission to the victims of Supertyphoon Yolanda (international code name Haiyan) in the Visayas, starting in the city of Ormoc and in Carigara town, near Tacloban City, Leyte.

 

As of Saturday, November 16, some 50,000 individuals have been given relief packs complete with 3 kilos of rice each, canned goods, noodles and bottled water in the combined relief distribution and medical mission in the areas reached by the INC mission.

Volunteer doctors and nurses also gave free medical consultation and free medicines.  All these efforts were done under the “Lingap sa Mamamayan” (Aid for Humanity) project in cooperation with the Felix Y. Manalo (FYM) Foundation Inc., the INC’s charitable arm.

INC Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo directed the immediate delivery of food and medical service in the hardest-hit areas of the super typhoon to give comfort and hope to the survivors, most of whom had been suffering from the lack of basic necessities since Yolanda struck last week.

The INC chapel in Ormoc City  and in Carigara, Leyte, served as the centers of the relief efforts and medical missions on November 14 and 16, respectively.

“This is just the start,” said minister Glicerio B. Santos Jr., INC’s general auditor.  “There will be simultaneous relief distribution and medical missions in 13 other sites in the affected areas in the Visayas on Sunday, November 17.”

Other relief distribution and medical missions will also be held this week by the INC in the areas severely hit by Yolanda, Dr. Sergie Santos of the FYM Foundation Inc. said.

They are also preparing a big relief distribution and medical mission in Tacloban City.

Ormoc City was the first stop of the INC’s Lingap sa Mamamayan that started around noon of November 14 until around 5 p.m., just before the worship service in the evening.  Some 30,000 relief packs were distributed that day.

Two days later, on Saturday, November 16, another round of relief distribution and medical mission was held in the town of Carigara that served at least 30,000 more people from several barangays coming from as far as Alang-alang, San Miguel, Jaro, Palo and Tacloban City.

Volunteer doctors and nurses gave free medical checkups and medicines, including anti-tetanus vaccines.

Typhoon survivors who came to get relief and medical aid in Ormoc City and in Carigara, Leyte, said this was the first time that a medical mission, combined with massive relief distribution, reached the place since Yolanda struck the province with powerful winds that knocked down the roofs and broke walls of concrete structures.

“We cannot buy medicines anywhere.  All the drugstores are closed,” said Marissa Eston, 31, who came to Carigara, all the way from San Miguel town in Leyte, to get medical treatment and food aid. Her right foot had been hit by a galvanized iron sheet that fell from their house’s roof.

“I tried to save the rice bag we had in the kitchen when the winds howled and part of the roof in the kitchen caved in,” Eston said.

Jasim Alvarez, 12, had two puncture wounds in his right foot.  He was treated by the doctors and given a shot of anti-tetanus toxoid as a preventive measure.

The people who came had different stories to tell about how they survived Yolanda’s wrath.

Susan Villarante came to the relief-distribution center in Carigara all the way from Tacloban City.  She came with her two sons.  Her youngest son is studying in Manila.     They survived Yolanda when her family sought refuge in INC’s worship building in Tacloban City.  She recalled how one of her sons had to plod through the mud and the streets, where lifeless bodies of typhoon victims were all around after Yolanda’s fury subsided.

The INC district minister in Tacloban, Nicanor Bernardo, said they had called on to the people in the area to evacuate their homes days before the typhoon struck.  The night before that, they again urged the people to enter INC’s chapel. One of those they were able to persuade was Villarante and her family.

Bernardo said there were people, many of whom were non-INC members, from three of the barangays in Tacloban City who came to seek refuge in INC’s worship building.  All of those inside the INC building survived the strong winds and storm surge that had killed many people in Tacloban City alone.

Some of these survivors from Tacloban City traveled to Carigara when they learned of the relief distribution in the area.  Relief goods, they said, were hard to come by, although they have heard in the news of help pledged for the survivors of Yolanda.

Most of the people who sought medical attention on  Thursday and Saturday had respiratory tract infections, such as severe coughs and colds, as they had been exposed to the elements since Yolanda destroyed their homes.  People also suffered from lacerations that they got from the yero or galvanized iron sheets, and puncture wounds from iron nails.  They were all given tetanus toxoid by the doctors.  Some were also given leptospirosis medicines.

Many people also suffered from gastroenteritis due to contaminated food and water.

“People were telling us, ‘Thank God we’re still alive,’” said Dr. Florencia Munsayac, who was among the volunteer doctors and nurses from Metro Manila who participated in the medical mission.  The other volunteers came from Cebu City.

Thankfully, the INC worship buildings in Ormoc City and Carigara, where the relief distribution and medical missions were held, withstood the super typhoon’s bashing.

The next INC medical mission and relief distribution is set to be held in areas severely damaged in northern Cebu, in Palawan and in other areas in the Visayan region, where Yolanda made landfall.

Tulad ng inaasahan ko 3 days before the event, nagpasabog na naman ng katalinuhan ang mga Catholic defenders lalo na ang kanilang pari na si Mr. Pulpol (Abe Arganiosa). At tulad ng isa ko pang inaasahan, KINONEKTA na naman ng MEDIA ang INC event na ito sa PULITIKA. Hindi rin pinalampas ng mga inggit sa INC ang pagkakataong ito para magpakalat ng mga kasinungalingan sa ibat ibang website, blog at social networking site.

Yung mga tao namang hindi nabiyayaan ng pag kaunawa hayun todo reklamo sa nangyaring event. Perwisyo daw dahil sobrang traffic ang dinulot nito sa kanila, nakansela daw ang klase sayang daw yung tuition nila (wow 1 araw na event sayang agad ang tuition), nakansela din ang mga pasok ng mga empleyado sa gobyerno, sinara din daw ang mga kalye para lang sa event na ito at kung ano ano pa...

Ni-request ba ito ng Iglesia ni Cristo?

Sabi nila, kinansela daw ang pasok at sinara ang mga kalye para sa event. Totoo yon. Pero yung isisisi ito sa Iglesia, MAG ISIP NAMAN KAYO KUNG MERONG ISIP, pag wala wag ng pilitin. 

Hindi yan nirequest ng INC at pwede ba, huwag niyong sabihin na kesyo ginawa ito ng local government para sumipsip sa INC para sa susunod na eleksyon eh suportahan sila ng Iglesia. Sadyang hindi lang talaga sila mga TANGA (tanga-may utak hindi naman ginagamit) na hindi pa sila NADADALA sa mga karanasan nila sa mga INC events at assemblies kung saan DAANG LIBO o MILYON ang dumadagsa. 

Kung hindi nila kinansela ang pasok sa eskwelahan at sa gobyerno, isara ang ilang mga kalye at magkaroon ng re-routing, HINDI BA MAS MALAKING KAGULUGAN AT PROBLEMA ANG KAKAHARAPIN  NILA? Heto ngat nagkansela na ng mga pasok pero marami pa rin ang mga nagrereklamong naapektuhan sa sobrang traffic.

Ang TIGAS NAMAN KASI NG MGA ULO NIYO, ilang araw bago ang INC event inanounce na yan pero hindi man lang kayo nag isip na mangyayari ang sinapit nyo. Mag 100years na ang Iglesia, at ilang beses na nagkaroon ng malalaking INC events sa Metro Manila HANGGANG NGAYON DI PA RIN KAYO NADADALA? Wala bang common sense?


Bakit Lunes?

Mga di talaga marunong mag isip. Yan ang pilit nilang pinagduduldulan, pwede naman daw weekends o sunday sana ginawa para di nakaabala sa traffic. Tanong, wala bang pagsamba ang mga miyembro ng Iglesia ni Cristo pag Sabado at Linggo? Imagine gabi pa lang ng Linggo tumulak na papuntang Maynila ang karamihan, kung linggo ginawa ibig sabihin sabado ng gabi sila pupunta ng Maynila? Ano to wala ng pagsamba para sa KKKK? Alam naman nila kung gaano kahalaga ang pagsamba saming mga Iglesia ni Cristo.

At sana naisip nila na pag tuesday naman, holiday yon para sa mga Muslim. Pangit naman kung wednesday gagawin, ano yon sat and sun walang pasok, lunes may pasok, tuesday at wednesday wala na namang pasok? Di ba mas okay na nga yung lunes para dire diretsong walang pasok! Ano ba yan!

Saka wala na bang iba pang event na KKKK bukod sa Quiapo? Hindi ba nila alam na may naka line up pang iba pang lugar na pagsasagawaan nito?


Ibat ibang suhestiyon mula sa mga taong hindi nabiyayaan ng pagkaunawa

Sa pagbabasa ko ng mga komento mula sa ibat ibang websites at blogs, ibat iba ang mga reaksyon ng mga tao. Marami din silang mga suggestion na halatang hindi pinag iisipan.

Andyan yung bakit daw kasi sa Manila pa ginawa eh heavily populated daw ito tapos sa Quiapo pa isinagawa. Andyan din yung bakit daw doon pa ginanap, para daw sana hindi nagkaproblema eh sa bawat lokal na lang daw ginawa yung event. Sabi pa ng iba, kung gusto daw makatulong sa mga tao sa pamamagitan ng dental at medical mission, bakit daw napakarami ng pinapupunta o pumupunta hindi naman naseserbisyuhan yung iba. Napakarami pa nilang kung ano-anong naiisip para sa INC event na ito.

Pero kung icoconsider natin ang kanilang mga suhestyon at opinyon, ang gusto ba nilang sabihin at ipagawa sa INC na kami ang MAG-AADJUST para sa kanila? Naka 19 KKKK events na sa buong bansa pero dapat iurong namin ang event sa Quiapo? Daang libo at milyon din ang pumunta sa mga KKKK event na yon pero heto kung MAKA REKLAMO SILA kala mo naman 1st time ginawa ito.

At gusto ata nila, kami na yung TUTULONG NG WALANG BAYAD, kami pa mag aadjust para sa kanilang PANSARILING KAGINHAWAHAN. NAKAKAHIYA NAMAN!

1 araw lang naman yung event, hindi naman isang linggo, kaya nga humihingi ng paumahin sa traffic na naidulot ng event na iyon eh. Kailangan din bang mag sorry dahil gusto namin mabigyan ng tulong ang maraming mahihirap sa Quiapo?


Reklamo ng reklamo pag event ng Iglesia ni Cristo

Hindi nyo ba napansin ang mga tao, kapag event ng Iglesia kung maka reak, makapagbigay ng opinyon at maka reklamo ay TODO TODO. Yung iba ngang hindi naman napinsala ng traffic, kahit nasa bahay lang at nakikibalita kala mo eh hindi nabigyan ng sweldo kung maka ngawa. Kulang na lang mag rally sa Edsa dahil sa kanilang ka oeyan. Pero pag event ng Catholic Church tahimik lang kaming mga Iglesia ni Cristo, yung ibat ibang fiesta nila, kahit yung pa-rally rally nila kung saan saan wala silang maririnig samin na kesyo napaka perwisyo o kung ano pa man dahil may respeto naman kami sa kanila. Kapag event din ng ibang relihiyon hindi naman kami mga REKLAMADOR na kesyo napakaperwisyo o kung ano pa man. 

Bakit pag sa Iglesia ni Cristo BASTOS sila? Anong meron? Pagpapatunay na hindi sila tunay na Kristiyano at pagpapatunay na hindi sila sa Diyos?


Pakitang Tao?

Yan pa ang isa sa mga paratang nila, ang ebidensya daw ay binobroadcast pa daw ang pagtulong, sabi daw sa bibliya ang pagtulong daw ay huwag pakitang tao lamang.

Porke ba binroadcast sa Net25 o INCTV pakitang tao agad? Hindi ba pwedeng para malaman lang ng mga tao ang mga aktibidad sa Iglesia kung saan kasama ito sa CHURCH NEWS na pinapalabas weekly?

Hindi ko alam kung ano ba talagang gusto nilang mangyari, dati pag walang mga ganitong aktibidad silang nababalitaan sasabihin nila kinukurakot lang ng mga ministro ang pera ng mga myembro o kaya naman, hindi daw tumutulong sa kapwa. Ngayon naman mas pinalaki at pinalawak ang pagtulong ng Iglesia, sasasabihin nila PAKITANG TAO LANG? ANO BA YAN!

Pag sinabi mong pakitang tao, bukod sa tumutulong lang para maipakita sa iba na tumutulong siya, eh hindi na nasusundan ang pagtulong na ito. Eh yung KKKK ay isang project ng INC at pang 20th na ang ginanap sa Quiapo, at gaganapin pa ito sa marami pang lugar sa bansa pati sa ibang bansa, bago sumapit ang sentenaryo ng Iglesia.

Ang tunay na mga pakitang tao pag tumutulong ay yung ginagawa ng mga politicians na tutulong kunwari pero anlalaki ng mga mukha nila sa mga posters sa event nila. Hindi naman nila pera yon pero yung mga mukha nila andoon kala mo sariling pera nila ginamit. Ang isa pang mga PAKITANG TAO, ay yung mga taong tumutulong sa kapwa pero kapag iba nag organisa ng pagtulong sa kapwa ay SINISIRAAN NILA ITO at ipapamukha ang mga GINAWA NILA sa pamamagitan ng PAGKUKUMPARA.

May koneksyon sa PULITIKA?

Nakakatawa talaga tong mga nasa media, lahat na lang ng INC event na ginagawa sa Metro Manila sinasabi nila POLITICALLY MOTIVATED daw. Ano ba yan. Bago pa ang KKKK sa Quiapo meron nang naganap na 19 KKKK sa buong bansa, pinakamalaking bilang ng dumalo sa 19 KKKK na yon eh sa Davao kung saan 2.5 million ang dumagsa, pero hindi man nga lang nila ito binalita sa TV at hindi rin kinonekta sa PULITIKA, pero pag ginaganap sa METRO MANILA mapa maliit na event o malaki, lagi nilang sinasabi may NAIS IPARATING kuno sa gobyerno. Pansin nyo?

Isipin nyo naman, NAPAHIYA NA NGA SILA sa GEM noong Feb. 2012 na ginagap sa Quirino Grand Stand at sa ibat ibang panig ng bansa. Ang report kasi nila SUPORTA DAW kay CORONA pero pahiya sila nung antay sila ng antay sa pag cocover ng pangyayaring iyon pero WALA SILANG NAKITA NA PAGSUPORTA kay Corona o anumang aktibidad na may koneksyon sa pagsuporta kay Corona.

Ngayon naman, ang MEDICAL at DENTAL MISSION plus RELIEF OPERATION plus EVANGELICAL MISSION kinonekta na naman sa PULITIKA. Ano naman kaya ang koneksyon ng pagbubunot ng ngipin, pamimigay ng gamot, at pangangaral ng salita ng Diyos sa PULITIKA? Meron ba? San banda?

Ang ibig nyo bang sabihin BAWAL SA MGA PULITIKO ANG MAG IGLESIA NI CRISTO? 

Pag meron kasing pangangaral ng salita ng Diyos nag iimbita ang INC ng mga hindi pa kaanib, kahit mapa pulitiko man, artista, kilalang tao o mga opisyal ng ibang relihiyon. MASAMA BANG AKAYIN SILA NA MAKINIG NG DOKTRINA NG IGLESIA?

Kahit ano pa mang rason ang nag udyok sa kanila na tanggapin ang imbitasyon ng INC, kung meron man silang agenda na magpalakas para masuportahan ng INC o kung ano pa man, sila na may problema doon. At hindi porke dumadalo sila sa mga INC event, hindi yun kasiguraduhan na sila ang susuportahan ng Iglesia sa mga susunod na eleksyon dahil maraming proseso ang pagdadaan niyan, hindi yan basta basta na porke may ginawang kabutihan sila sa INC iboboto agad. Hindi ganun yun.

Sa halip na MAGREKLAMO KAYO NG MAGREKLAMO, bakit hindi na lang kayo GUMAWA NG KABUTIHAN at TULUNGAN ANG INYONG KAPWA? Porke ba INC ang nag organisa ng event kailangan BASTUSAN? Kailan nyo pipigilan ang sarili na mainggit sa Iglesia ni Cristo at pipigilin ang sarili magsalita ng mga walang ka sense sense na mga bagay?

Kabayan ko, Kapatid ko (updated)

Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko (My Countrymen, My Brethren) is a reinvigorated initiative of the present Church Administration to carry out the Church’s two-fold mission of edifying its flock and evangelizing the world. Laying emphasis on the importance of genuine brotherly love in fulfilling the Lord’s work of salvation, it advocates finding commonalities and harnessing them to create opportunities for true spiritual renewal and upliftment.

A salient part of the Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko project is conducting humanitarian outreach services, such as relief and health-care missions, through which the members of the Church are able to express love and compassion to their fellowmen by extending help especially in time of need. True love, after all, is best shown in action: “My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action … This is how we know what love is: Christ gave his life for us. We too, then, ought to give our lives for others! If we are rich and see others in need, yet close our hearts against them, how can we claim that we love God?” (I John 3:18, 16-17, TEV).

Helping others has always been a priority of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. Not to be excluded, then, in the Countdown to the Centennial is the Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko outreach mission, wherein free medical and dental services will be offered and free medicines and other goodwill items will be distributed to all those in need.

Kabayan ko, Kapatid ko is a project of the Iglesia ni Cristo (Lingap sa Mamamayan + Grand Evangelical Mission) that offers free medical and dental check up, free medicines, goods and shares the message of salvation. Belated Happy anniversary to all brethren around the world!

We are now all excited because two years from now will be the talked about celebration which is the Iglesia ni Cristo's Centennial anniversary which will be centered in Ciudad de Victoria-Philippine Arena, and will be broadcasted live in different parts of the world.

In the 98th anniversary celebration of the church, the church conducted the "Lingap sa Mamamayan" at Tondo, Manila which is the biggest Lingap of the INC, biggest health and dental services in the Philippines, if not the world, which achieved 3 Guinness record. The church also launched INCinema and INConcert, and held Grand Evangelical Mission in all locales worldwide last July 27.

Wow, truly amazing! I just cant wait what other church projects are about to come before the centennial. And i will grab this opportunity this time for you to know what i wanted to campaign, and i want your HELP to make this happen, this is to counter disinformation to INC of nonmembers here in the web. So please brethren, this is all for the upcoming centennial, because as what i have said, im expecting that in that time, thousands of people will become curious about the INC and of course they will search it here in the web because i know the INC will be in the news worldwide.

If you notice, there are many anti-INC websites, blogs and etc that contained false informations created by jealous nonmembers for those who doesnt have knowledge in the INC will have bad impression to the Church.

PLEASE CREATE A BLOG!

Create a blog for the church that contains TRUE INFO's that they should know about the INC. For example, What is INC? Who are we? What are the projects of INC? and etc. This is purposed to bring RIGHT INFORMATIONS about the Iglesia ni Cristo, this is not for us to preach, but to give them the TRUE KNOWLEDGE about our beliefs, who we really are and what is the INC now. If you will help me on this, i will be thankful and i want to give you some advice:

-disable comments on your blog, or if you want viewers to comment, strictly moderate it.
-title your blog to iglesia ni cristo or put the name iglesia ni cristo in your URL, for example like what i did to this blog, i renamed it to readmeiglesianicristo.blogspot.com

-If you have no such knowledge to defend the church and etc just make posts about the INC showing true infos, you can avoid or not to do any article on defending our faith, i hope you get my point. But you can post articles from the Pasugo.

Iglesia ni Cristo breaks 3 Guinness records!

“You are now officially amazing!”
With this declaration, Guinness world record’s official adjudicator Tarika Vara certified that the international aid for humanity, or “lingap sa mamamayan,” which the Iglesia ni Cristo’s (INC) held in Manila on July 7, had broken three Guinness world records.
The whole-day medical-dental mission in the capital’s huge informal settlers’ community broke the world record for the largest dental health check.
It also broke two other world records—for the biggest number of blood pressure (BP) readings taken in eight hours and for the most numerous blood glucose level (BGL) tests, also conducted in eight hours.
The feat was also a win for the Philippines, organizers said.
Parola, Tondo
At the closing of the medical-dental mission in Parola, Tondo, on Saturday night, Vara announced that she and the Guinness partner auditor for the event had recorded 4,128 people who benefited from the dental health check, beating the record of 3,377 previously held by India.
Guinness also announced a record 8,026 BP readings and 5,217 BGL tests, which were conducted in cooperation with the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation.
The Kuwait Heart Foundation previously held the record of 7,203 BP readings taken in eight hours. The foundation achieved the record on Oct. 28, 2011.
The previous record for the most numerous BGL tests in eight hours was 3,573. It was achieved at an event organized by the Novo Nordisk Education Foundation in Bangalore, India on Nov. 13, 2011.
“This was a truly extraordinary event,” Vara said of the INC achievement, as she made the announcement.
“I have truly not seen anything like this not just as a representative of Guinness world record, but in my life. I’ve never seen an organization so dedicated to helping other people free of charge all day from 10 past 10 in the morning to 10 past nine at night,” she said.
Vara said she did not know of any other organization in the world that was able to break three records in just one event.

“I would like to say that I was extremely pleased (and) moved, and I’m just completely humbled by the fact that you gave your services today. The standards were incredibly high. All of you ensured that you were following the Guinness world record guidelines which I was adamant you had to. So, thank you for listening to me. You are now, officially amazing!” Vara said.
Medicines, relief bags
She raised the “Guinness world record” seal amid shouts of joy from volunteers, organizers and beneficiaries who stayed on for the announcement.
Aside from providing medical and dental consultations, the lingap sa mamamayan distributed medicines to thousands of residents in Tondo, particularly those from Parola, Baseco and Isla Puting Bato.
Volunteers from the INC and the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation also distributed 50,000 bags of relief that contained 5 kilos of rice each, noodles and canned goods.
In a statement, INC executive minister Eduardo V. Manalo said the INC members were doing this in accordance with the biblical teachings to love and care for others, especially those who have less in life.
The aid for humanity in Tondo was also done to commemorate the INC’s 98th anniversary this month.
Homeless
The INC holds regular aid-for-humanity activities, especially in areas stricken by calamities. Just two months ago, fire hit the Parola compound and Isla Puting Bato, leaving at least 5,000 residents homeless.
Glicerio B. Santos Jr., INC general auditor, said the aid for humanity in Tondo was the biggest so far.
Some 200 doctors, 600 paramedics, and hundreds of nurses and other volunteers, led by Glicerio Santos III, helped to make the daylong outreach a success.
Organizers said close to 100,000 people, most of them living in the slums of Tondo, flocked to the event.
The aid for humanity also provided X-ray, ultrasound, 2D-echo and laboratory services, and set up 10 hospital beds where minor surgeries could be performed. Aside from medicines, several wheelchairs were also given to needy folks.
Vara said this was an “incredible feat” because the thousands who had flocked to the area, had been given proper attention by the doctors, nurses and paramedics, complete with the necessary medication to address their ailments.
Hospital setting
“And it wasn’t just about achieving Guinness world records,” she said, noting that there was treatment and assessment of what was wrong with the people who came to the vast makeshift structure that emulated a hospital setting at the heart of Tondo’s slums.
The distribution of relief started at around 8 a.m. Medical and dental services opened at 10:10 a.m. and were conducted for eight hours straight. Counters from SGV, Guinness’ partner in the event, ensured strict compliance with Guinness guidelines.
At 6:10 p.m., the counting was officially stopped, although the checkup continued for hundreds still in line.

Relief Mission-Surigao Del Sur

Massive flooding due to days of continuous rains hit various places in the Philippines at the beginning of 2011.

A State of Calamity was declared in the province of Surigao del Sur in Mindanao. The town of San Miguel was one of those that were severely affected by the said floods. Because of this, town residents were trapped in their homes without food. This situation worsened their already impoverished state.

The Administration of the Church of Christ immediately sent help to our fellow citizens in that area through the Church’s Relief Mission.

On January 12, as early as seven in the morning, the relief goods were distributed in the Barangay of Sagbayan.

At nine o’ clock, the Church of Christ members travelled three hours by pumpboat towards Upper Bagyang where the Manobo natives live. This place is one of the farthest barangays in the town of San Miguel. After the relief distribution activity in that area, the relief operations continued in Barangay Patong and in Barangay Barras. At five in the afternoon, the relief mission reached the town of San Miguel wherein a great number of victims lived. Two hours after, at seven in the evening, the mission reached Barangay Gua and at eight o’ clock, Barangay Badong.

This relief mission is intended not only for members of the Church of Christ but also for non-members. Presently, the brethren in the Church continue to prepare in helping those who are in need.

In connection with the 86th birth anniversary of Brother Eraño Manalo, two big events were held consecutively by members of the Church of Christ. On January 2, 2011, his exact birthdate, 46 new ministers were ordained in the local congregation of Tondo.

The ordination held in the local congregation of Tondo, Manila was viewed through video conferencing in 16 venues throughout the world. In the Philippines, the venues included are the local congregations of Central in Quezon City, Magsaysay in Baguio City, Legazpi City, Puerto Princesa City, Cebu City, Bacolod City, Agdao in Davao City and Canelar in Zamboanga City.

Church of Christ members in other countries were gathered in various chapels and venues namely: Heathrow, London in the United Kingdom; Tokyo, Japan; Waipahu, Hawaii; Sydney, Australia; San Jose and Anaheim in California; Chicago, Illinois and Temple hills in Maryland.

The Church first used the video conferencing technology in 1994 during the time of the late Brother Eraño G. Manalo.

Among the ordainees were Brother Angelo Eraño Manalo and Brother Antonio de Guzman, Jr.

The next day, January 3, a Medical and Dental Outreach was held in Maharlika Village, Taguig City.

As per instruction of the Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, Brother Glicerio Santos, Jr. led the preparation of this event. According to Brother Glicerio, the Church members continue to uphold this Medical and Dental Outreach as a manifestiation of their obedience to God’s commandment to love our neighbors.

Brethren in the medical field united to conduct this Medical and Dental Mission. The ministers and the evangelical workers of the Church led the distribution of 15,000 bags of relief goods.

According to the residents of Maharlika Village, most of whom belong to the Muslim community, because of life’s pressing hardships today, the free medical and dental service and relief goods distribution of the Church of Christ, are indeed a great aid to them.

Muslim leaders also extend their gratitude to the Church of Christ members who continue to provide this Medical and Dental Outreach not only in Taguig City but also in different parts of the country.

Lingap sa Mamamayan on Typhoon Ondoy victims

Thousands receive relief goods from INC's Lingap sa Mamamayan. 

Thousands of families and individuals affected by typhoon Ondoy received relief goods from Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Chirst) through its socio-civic project, Lingap Sa Mamamayan.

More beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the relief operations as the INC continues to conduct this activity to extend the much-needed help and assistance to the needy Filipinos, both members and non-members of the Church.

The relief goods include food, clothes and water. The recent typhoon, one of the most devastating calamities that hit the Philippines, claimed lives, left people homeless, destroyed millions of properties and leaving some affected areas still submerged in flood water.

The relief operations were conducted by the Iglesia Ni Cristo in the affected communities in Metro Manila, Rizal and in 10 other provinces including Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Cavite, Laguna and Batangas. 

Civic actions of this nature has been initiated by the late Executive Minister, Bro. Eraño G. Manalo during times of calamities and is being continued by the present Church Administration under the leadership of Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo.

"Hanggang nangangailangan ng tulong ang ating mga mamamayan, hangga't kailangan ng tao, hangga't may kalamidad, nakaagapay ang Iglesia Ni Cristo"

[Whenever help is called for, whenever people is in need, whenever calamities strike, the Iglesia Ni Cristo is always there to assist,]" INC Minister Glicerio B. Santos said.

The relief operations started as early as Sunday, a day after Typhoon Ondoy hit Metro Manila last September 26, 2009. People line up to receive their share of plastic bags containing sardines, noodles, coffee and rice.

In Bayan-bayanan, Marikina, about 2,000 victims of the typhoon received relief goods from Lingap while 2,400 families in Sta. Ana, San Mateo, and Rodriguez in Rizal and some areas in Quezon City including Baging Silangan benefited from the food and clothes distributed by INC.

Relief operations are also conducted by INC in Pampanga particularly in the towns of Guagua, Sasmuan, San Simon, Candaba and Masantol.

At the height of the typhoon, rescue and relief operations were conducted by SCAN International with the officers of the INC in a landslide in Laquios, Arayat Pampanga.

In the province of Bulacan, Lingap is also conducted the towns of Marilao and Lambakin. The same activity was launched in Sta Cruz, Calamba, Dela Paz and San Pedro in the province of Laguna.

Most of the victims of the typhoon lost everything and are in dire need of food, clothes and water.

Despite of the disaster, some of the affected people remain hopeful that they can rise from this tragedy. What is important, according to some is that they are still alive and that their families are safe.

For members of the Church of Christ who were also affected, it is their strong faith in God that gives them hope, strength and courage.

Both members and non-members of the Church expressed their gratitude to the Iglesia Ni Cristo for the timely conduct of Lingap Sa Mamamayan.

Lingap Sa Mamamayan is a socio-civic activity of the Church of Christ that regularly conducts medical and social missions in various parts of the country that caters to both members and non-members of the Church.

The members of the Church are encouraged to communicate to their respective locales for their voluntary interest to provide relief goods to the victims.
