Kaarawan ng "Birheng Maria": Biblikal o imbento lang?

Ang kaarawan ng kanilang "Birheng Maria" tuwing Sep. 8 ay may basehan ba sa bibliya o imbento lang din tulad ng kaarawan daw ni Kristo na hinango sa selebrasyong pagano?

Wag na tayong magpaliguy ligoy pa, itanong na lang natin sa mga sumasamba kay Maria, sa mga katoliko. 

Walang bias to ah, galing mismo sa kanilang encyclopedia:


"The earliest document commemorating this feast comes from the sixth century. St.Romanus, the great ecclesiastical lyrist of the Greek Church, composed for it a hymn (Card. Pitra, "Hymnogr. Graeca", Paris, 1876, 199) which is a poetical sketch of the apocryphal Gospel of St. James. St.Romanus was a native of Emesa in Syria, deacon of Berytus and later on at the Blachernae church in Constantinople, and composed his hymns between 536-556 (P. Maas in "Byzant. Zeitschrift", 1906). 

The feast may have originated somewhere in Syria or Palestine in the beginning of the sixth century, when after the Council of Ephesus, under the influence of the "Apocrypha", the cult of the Mother of God was greatly intensified, especially in Syria. St. Andrew of Crete in the beginning of the eight century preached several sermons on this feast (Lucius-Anrich, "Anfänge des Heiligenkultus", Tübingen, 1906, 468). 

Evidence is wanting to show why the eighth of September was chosen for its date. The Church of Rome adopted it in the seventh century from the East; it is found in the Gelasian (seventh cent.) and the Gregorian (eighth to ninth cent.) Sacramentaries. Sergius I (687-701) prescribed a litany and procession for this feast (P.L. cxxviii, 897 sqq.). Since the story of Mary's Nativity is known only from apocryphal sources, the Latin Church was slow in accepting this oriental festival. It does not appear in many calendars which contain the Assumption, e.g. the Gotho-Gallican, that of Luxeuil, the Toledan Calendar of the tenth century, and the Mozarabic Calendar. 

The church of Angers in France claims that St. Maurilius instituted this feast at Angers in consequence of a revelation about 430. On the night of 8 Sept., a man heard the angels singing in heaven, and on asking the reason, they told him they were rejoicing because the Virgin was born on that night (La fête angevine N.D. de France, IV, Paris, 1864, 188); but this tradition is not substantiated by historical proofs. 

The feast is found in the calendar of Sonnatius, Bishop of Reims, 614-31 (Kellner, Heortology, 21). Still it cannot be said to have been generally celebrated in the eighth and ninth centuries. 

St. Fulbert, Bishop of Chartres (d. 1028), speaks of it as of recent institution (P.L., cxli, 320, sqq.); the three sermons he wrote are the oldest genuine Latin sermons for this festival (Kellner, "Heortology", London, 1908, 230). 

The octave was instituted by Innocent IV (a. 1243) in accordance with a vow made by the cardinals in the conclave of the autumn of 1241, when they were kept prisoners by Frederick II for three months. In the Greek Church the apodosis (solution) of the feast takes place 12 Sept., on account of the feast and the solemnity of the Exaltation of the Cross, 13 and 14 Sept. 

The Copts in Egypt and the Abyssinians celebrate Mary's Nativity on 1 May, and continue the feast under the name of "Seed of Jacob" 33 days (Anal. Juris Pont., xxi, 403); they also commemorate it on the first of every month (priv. letter from P. Baeteman, C.M., Alikiena). The Catholic Copts have adopted the Greek feast, but keep it 10 Sept. (Nilles, "Kal. Man.", II, 696, 706)." source: newadvent.org

Eto na naman, tradisyon pala ang pinagmulan ng kaarawan na ito ng kanilang "Birheng Maria" (Catholic version) na ginawa nilang INA NG DIYOS noong Council of Ephesus (431 AD). Hindi pala ito nanggaling sa bibliya, hindi rin turo ng mga apostol at lalong lalo na, hindi isang selebrasyon galing sa 1st century Christians, kundi galing sa tradisyong Katoliko.

Isa na namang UNBIBLICAL na katuruan sa Iglesia Katolika. Napakahilig talaga nila sa pag iimbento. Hindi ba nila alam na kasalanan ang ginagawa nila na may kaparusahan sa araw ng paghuhukom?

Eto pa ang sabi sa isa na namang catholic book tungkol sa pinagmulan nito:

The origin of this Feast is sought in Palestine. It goes back to the consecration of a church in Jerusalem, which tradition identifies as that of the present basilica of St. Ann.
At Rome the Feast began to be kept toward the end of the 7th century, brought there by Eastern monks. Gradually and in varied ways it spread to the other parts of the West in the centuries that followed. From the 13th century on, the celebration assumed notable importance, becoming a Solemnity with a major Octave and preceded by a Vigil calling for a fast. The Octave was reduced to a simple one during the reform of St. Pius X and was abolished altogether under the reform of Pius XII in 1955.
The present Calendar characterizes the Birth of Mary as a "Feast," placing it on the same plane as the Visitation.
For some centuries now, the Birth has been assigned to September 8 both in the East and in the West, but in ancient times it was celebrated on different dates from place to place.     Ito ang question: Nasan po doon ang "respect each OTHER'S beliefs whatever it is?"

    Note: hindi po ito "Off-topic comment," question po ito about respecting the belief about celebration of the kaarawan ng BIRHENG MARIA.

    Accordingly, when you said, "no bias". actually, the very fact that you are writing this article in order to falsify this belief is a bias in itself. It is logical to think therefore that the "no bias" attitude not possible in the whole duration that the article is being written.

      Let us all be nice in the best we can." ay para sa COMMENT SECTION PO NG AKING BLOG. To tell you, May history na po kasi ang blog na ito ng bangayan, debate at iba pa na hindi maganda sa mga mambabasa. Pwede magbigay ng opinyon, kaya nga COMMENT SECTION ang tawag hindi naman DEBATE SECTION. Napupunta lang sa masasakit na salita kaya nag strikto po ako sa mga magkokomento at nagbgay ng mga rules. Sana ay nabgyan ko kayo ng unawa sa bagay na ito.

      Blog ko po ito bilang INC member, ang pagtatanggol ko po sa aking pananampalataya ang makikita nyo dito. Kaya sa pag talakay sa ibang paniniwala malamang ay hindi ako sasang ayon hindi dahil sa "BIAS" ako kundi para malaman ng tao kung ano ang totoo.

      ANg tinutukoy ko na hindi ko pagiging BIAS ay hal. sa isang isyu kung saan sa halip na sa katotohanan pumapanig ay iba ang pinapanigan ko dahil iba ang interes ko. Marami ng nakakakilala sakin kahit sa fb na mga naka argumento ko na di INC, at kinikilala nila ako na isang INC member na sinasabi nilang iba sa ibang kapatid. Sa kanila ninyo tanungin kung akoy BIAS palagi.

      Tulad ng nasabi ko na, ang blog na ito ay hindi lugar sa pakikipagdebate. Kung hindi ka agree sa artikulo ko mag comment ka ng maayos, ganun kasimple. Hindi yung makikipaghamon ng debate o kaya eh pagsasalitaan ako ng masasama o ang Iglesia.

      Ang kalayaan may limitasyon. Kaya nag set ako ng rules sa blog na ito para maging malinis ito hindi tulad ng iba na puro debate at puro paratangan o palitan ng masasakit na salita. Its not a healthy discussion, it only result to nothing.
