Catholic Church in the beginning is the Church of Christ

We believe that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) is the re-establishement of the true church founded by our lord Jesus Christ, and that so-called Catholic Church was the Church of Christ in the beginning...

But, how was this happen? Wait, let us make it short and clear.

The church that was founded by Christ is the Church of Christ, but, the next administration after the death of the apostles whom took place, the Church of Christ later became the "Holy Catholic Apostolic Roman Church" as what bishops in the Vatican council in 1870 decided unanimously to change its name. And because of a lot of changes happened in the time what i am saying about after the death of the apostles, it will and can never be the Church in the 1st century! So, as what prophesied, that Christ "have other sheep" (john 10:16) "from afar" (Acts 2:39) and in the "ends of the earth" (Isa. 43:6), the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) showed up in the time of first world war by God's messenger Bro. Felix Manalo whom commissioned to preach the TRUE WORDS OF GOD, came in these last days.

Yes. The “Catholic Church” was the church built by Christ in the beginning but later apostatized not because of the persecution, but because of APOSTASY (II thess 2:3).

As what was the meaning of Apostasy,

“Turning or falling away from true gospel teachings as individuals or as a people.” About.com

And that happens when the popes, emperors in Rome, bishops and etc. made teachings that caused the Church of Christ fall from the TRUE or ORIGINAL FAITH.

The question is, is the Church in the 1^st century the same as what the Catholic Church have and doing? A big NO! Click here for the answer.

Let us also quote authorities who’s proving what I am saying,

The Roman Catholic Church, in the person of Gregory Baum, frankly admits that apologetical arguments in favor of her uniqueness are generally no longer regarded as valid. One of the reasons is that her mentors cannot offer a strict historical proof that she (catholic Church) is in essential continuity with the Church of the New testament (Church of Christ.)

And now, they are having great hesitation in proposing the four distinguishing marks that alleged certify her as the true Church!

Other proofs,

When for instance, we look at the profound change that occurred in the early Church when the monarchial episcopate replaced other forms of apostolic ministry, we realize that we cannot “prove” that throughout this change the Church remained identical with herself.” (p.92)

Yes. As what the truth is, even in the Catholic authorities cannot prove that the Catholic Church is the same of the early church as what happen a lot of CHANGES.

But wait, let’s go back in the topic of that Church built by Christ, what was it again?

“5. Did Jesus Christ establish a Church? Yes, from all history, both secular and profane, as well as from the bible considered as a human document, we learn that Jesus Christ established a Church, which from the earliest times has been called after him the Christian Church or the Church of Christ… This Church, founded and organized by Jesus Christ and preached by the apostles, is the Church of Christ,… It is the only true Church and the one which God orders all men to join. ” Religion: Doctrine and Practice, by Rev. Francis Cassily, pp. 442-443 and p. 444

Clearly, the Church built by Christ was called after him; it was the Christian Church or the CHURCH OF CHRIST!

And how does other describes it?

“…The Church of Christ, which has been divinely instituted for the sake of souls and of eternal salvation…” The Papal Encyclicals, Anne Fremantle, p.153

“…the Church of Christ today must be in nature, in power, in teaching, what it was when it served men through the twelve apostles. It is to this Church that are all obliged to belong in order to be saved. Those people who through their own grave fault do not know the true Church, or, knowing it, refuse to join it, cannot be saved.” Father Smith Instructs Jackson, Rev. John Francis Nole, Bishop of Fort Wayne and Rev. Lester Fallon, pp. 35-36

Identical, isn’t it? How they describe the church is that we should enter or join Christ’s Church for the salvation. Because it was the TRUE CHURCH and those who refused to join cannot be saved, as what stated. What I am saying about being identical is what the authors referring to, the CHURCH OF CHRIST, and the CHURCH OF CHRIST, Iglesia Ni Cristo that is the re-establishment of the true church was identical in the teachings.

If you know about the teachings in the Iglesia ni Cristo, you will understand what I am saying. Simply, one of the teachings in the INC is what been said earlier, that it was the true church, and those who refuse to join cannot be saved!

Catholic Church’s BIG MISTAKE.

It is written in the bible,

“But there is something we must tell you and everyone else in Israel. This man is standing here completely well because of the power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth. You put Jesus to death on a cross, but God raised him to life…Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.” Acts 4:10,12

But what does the Catholic Church did?

“’Catholic’ is the ancient name by which the Church of Christ has been known for nineteen centuries, this name was given to her not for reasons of controversy, to prove something, but because it identifies her uniquely. It was first used by St. Ignatius, bishop of Antioch in Syria, who was martyred about A.D 110. The Church founded by Christ is here, for the first time, called ‘the Catholic Church’, a name clearly to denote the Church throughout the world in union with the see or diocese of Rome. “The council of trent made ‘Roman’ part of the official title of the church…” Roman Catholic, Rev. Edward Taylor, p.7

“In 1870, at the Vatican Council, the name ‘Roman Catholic Church’ was proposed, but it was rejected. The bishops assembled unanimously decided upon this official name: ‘The Holy Catholic Apostolic Roman Church’” Discourses on the Apsotle’s Creed, Rev. Clement Crock, p. 191

Very clear, they CHANGED THE CHURCH’S NAME. It is clear therefore that this name did not come from the bible. This is not the name of the Church established by Christ, and therefore, not the Church that will be saved. Because it is written, His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone. (Acts 4:12)

Now, Who can prove that the Catholic Church is the Church in the 1^st century? (By historical facts? Oh no, not again!) Yes. It has its historical background but what we are talking here is, if the Catholic Church is STILL, SAME and IDENTICAL with the Church in the 1^st century!

NOTE: To others, especially to Catholicdefender2000, that is very happy making articles that say that the Iglesia Ni Cristo, Church of Christ is admitting that the Catholic Church was the true Church in the beginning. So? we admit it because it is a fact. (Atleast we can say that we are in truth because we say FACTS, be ashamed because what others especially Sir Catholicdefender2000 makes lies, and twisted statements just to pull down the INC) He always misunderstood and make different meanings behind it like what he always quote when he want to debunk the INC,

Poor one, i thought he was a good defender but he always makes misunderstandings.

The "Ten commandments" in the Iglesia Ni Cristo

This was the "Ten Commandments" in the Iglesia ni Cristo or to the members of the Church of Christ to take good care of salvation.

1)Thou shall not let your Love for God be weary. (Rev.2:3-5)(Huwag manlalamig ang pag-ibig sa diyos.)
2)Thou shall not Forsake the assembling of ourselves Together. (Heb.10:25-27)(Huwag pababayaan ang mga pagsamba.)
3)Thou shall not Draw Back of Being a Chosen One of God. (Heb.10:37-39)(Huwag umurong sa pagka-Iglesia ni Cristo.)
4)Thou shall not lose faith. (John 3:18)(Huwag mawawalan ng pananampalataya.)
5)Thou shall not live in works of Flesh or Sin. (I Cor.6:9-10, Gal.5:19-21)(Huwag mabuhay sa laman o sa likong pamumuhay.)
6)Thou shall not violate the Love for your Brethens. (1 John:3:14-15)(Huwag sisirain ang pag-iibigang magkakapatid.)
7)Thou shall not neglect the house of worship or leave it in despair. (Hag.1:3-11)(Huwag pababayaang wasak ang sambahan.)
8)Thou shall not neglect our mission to bear fruit. (John 15:2,6)(Huwag kaligtaan ang gawang pagbubunga.)
9)Thou shall not remiss in the performance of your duties as a Church Worker/member/Evangelical Church worker. (Jer.48:10)(Huwag ipagwalang-bahala ang pagtupad sa mga tungkulin.)
10) Thou shall not neither rebel nor contend with the Church Administration. (II tim. 3:8)(Huwag lalaban sa Pamamahala.)

NOTE: There were more commandments were being stated in the bible that is always being reminded by the Church administration for the every church member to attain the salvation. These were just of those important commandments that should be applied by church members to take good care of the salvation. This ten commandments were not just formulated and whatsoever but is truly written in the bible.

The persecution to the Iglesia Ni Cristo

Every pioneer members/ministers and etc. in the Iglesia ni cristo, Church of Christ knows how the church suffered from the great persecution coming from nonmembers. Since then its very beginning and until now, the church and members not only having persecuted but also have been discriminate by other faiths in many aspect.

There were stories that in the time of Bro. Felix Manalo's and even ministers preaching in the worship service, that the roof of the house of worship were being thrown by stones. And in the side of the members, others were also being thrown not just by stones but also negative comments and they were being hated. And so many stories that you cant even imagine that was overcome by the INC and its members!

(Nowadays, the groups/people who still doing this most were the Cathholics, especially the Catholic faith defenders and Members of the church of Eli Soriano [MCGI] and other faiths.) How? By making articles using propaganda materials and specially through the use of the Internet or web... Many blogs and sites of these anti-INC people contains accusations, destructive opinions, lies and everything. Why? Very simple. They want others to have a bad impression to the INC as well as its members. Other reason? Because they get envy because of how far the Iglesia Ni Cristo accomplished as it is being a small group with few members but now, the INC spreads in 92 countries and 100+ nationalities! (That's how God guide and still guiding the church)

But we, as the members of the Church of Christ were not surprised in all of these, why? it is because the bible itself testifies:

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. " Matt 10: 22

We know that we will also suffer being hated by other. Because it is Lord Jesus Christ first who suffered all of these:

"If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first." John 15:18

And we, as the members of Christ's Church doing God's will wants to be saved.

"In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted," II tim. 3:12

BUT, should we be ashamed because of these?

"But if you suffer because you are a Christian, do not be ashamed. Praise God because you wear that name." I pet. 4:16

Clearly, we should not be ashamed instead, we must be thankful coz' we are in the Church of Christ and that we are called Christian because we are member of Christ's body or Church. (Church of Christ --> ...rch of Christ --> CHRISTian)

Also because we will be blessed,

"People will insult you and hurt you. They will lie and say all kinds of evil things about you because you follow me. But when they do, you will be blessed." Matt. 5:11

"Rejoice and be glad, because you have a great reward waiting for you in heaven. People did the same evil things to the prophets who lived before you." Matt. 5:12

"When people insult you because you follow Christ, you are blessed, because the glorious Spirit, the Spirit of God, is with you." I Pet. 4:14

Another, we should not afraid of our enemies, because those will be destroyed and that we will be saved.

"and that you are not afraid of those who are against you. All of this is proof that your enemies will be destroyed but that you will be saved by God." Phil. 1:28

Lets go back on being ashamed, and it is answered, we should not be, because the one should be ASHAMED were:

"Those who worship idols should be ashamed; they brag about their gods.
All the gods should worship the Lord. " Psalms 97:7

Why idol worshipers should be ashamed? Because they changed the glory of god in CULT-IMAGES!

"Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles."
Rom 1:22-23

And what?

"They traded the truth of God for a lie. They worshiped and served what had been created instead of the God who created those things, who should be praised forever. Amen." Rom. 1:25

OKAY, Very clear, again, the one who SHOULD be ashamed is those who WORSHIP IMAGES because they traded the truth for a LIE! They made statues/images and worship it rather than the CREATOR OF LIFE(God, the father)!

The feast of the "Black Nazarene"

What is the feast of the so-called "Black Nazarene"?

"an annual religious event that draws Christian believers to the miraculous image of Jesus Christ..."

"The Feast of Black Nazarene, which is annually held in Quiapo, has long been marred by deaths and injuries of devotees during the procession..." digitaljournal.com

What happens in every year procession?

"Every year the annual religious rites claim many lives due to stampedes and the sheer number of people who want to touch the image of the Black Nazarene. Many devotees believe that touching the image of Black Nazarene will bring them good luck. Others believe that by joining the procession, their wishes will be granted aside from strengthening their faith and fulfilling their vows..." source: digitaljournal.com

So, yearly, devotees suffers, injures, and even dies in that event only because of their huge devotion to that Black Nazarene. Why? as what stated, they believe that it will bring them good luck, and that their "wishes" will be granted.

Another is that they believe that it will bring them blessings and the big thing what they really believing is that the "Black Nazarene" was MIRACULOUS...

It was just so sad that others suffered and even died only because of this kind of event, that should be PEACEFULLY done. And last year, i was shocked when i watched news about a devotee died in that feast...

and i think it is his wife was interviewed, i dont exactly remember what she said but i guess she said that she will just account it as a "blessing " and will keep on continuing their panata whatever happens. So, i feel pity for those people who was blinded by their faith only because of their belief about the so-called "miracle"... tsk.tsk

Another, what does these people show?

yes. definitely!

They are showing that they are undisciplined one. I thought there was "UNITY" in the Catholic Church? But what's these? every year, organizers still cannot have LESSONS to what happens to the devotees who's joining the event!

However, if we will notice other religious groups like El shaddai who's always having their worship services having thousands of followers but not getting these things. And even we, the INC. The INC just have its grand celebration last year that brought millions of people to their respective places of event but still nothing happened like what's happening YEARLY on the procession of the Black Nazarene.



So, what does the bible describe these things? Lets quote it.

"Their idols are made of silver and gold, the work of human hands.
They have mouths, but they cannot speak. They have eyes, but they cannot see. They have ears, but they cannot hear. They have noses, but they cannot smell. They have hands, but they cannot feel. They have feet, but they cannot walk. No sounds come from their throats." Psalm 115:4-7

"Some people make idols, but they are worth nothing. People treasure them, but they are useless. Those people are witnesses for the statues, but those people cannot see. They know nothing, so they will be ashamed." Isaiah 44:9

"They put it on their shoulders and carry it. They set it in its place, and there it stands; it cannot move from its place. People may yell at it, but it cannot answer. It cannot save them from their troubles." Isaiah 46:7

In short, most didnt know that god hate those who make so much effort and everything to the "Idols" made by human hands...

A catholic defender reacted and “ANSWERS (?)” one of my article here entitled “Still the original church (?)”… Lets examine his statements…

Catholicdefender2000: A member of Felix Manalo's cult in his blog at readmeinc.blogspot.com was asking if the Catholic Church is still the Church founded by Christ? The answer is a big YES!

In the beginning of his article, you can see his great angriness with the Iglesia Ni Cristo. How can I say that? Because if you were a TRUE defender of your faith and want to show the truth beyond your readers, your statements must not mixed with your emotions especially with your intention! Catholicdefender2000 shows that he is just debunking the INC by using some phrases or words that can be categorized as being BIAS. Let us correct Catholicdefender2000, I am not a member of your so-called “Felix Manalo’s cult” especially to the (apostatized church, hehe) I am a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ)…! Please remember that!

Let us proceed to his “ANSWERS (?)”

Catholicdefender2000: Is the Iglesia ni Cristo the same as the FIRST CENTURY Church built by Christ?

Definitely no! In fact Iglesia ni Cristo's Official Magazine called PASUGO (Pasugo: August-September 1964, p. 5)said, “When was the INK registered in the Philippine Government? It was in July 27, 1914. Truly it was stated in the registry that brother F. Manalo founded the INK.”

"The true Church of Christ is one, this is the Church built by Christ. If there are churches sprouting today claiming be Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo) these are not real but fakes.” (Pasugo: May 1968, p.7)

Most of the Anti-INC articles of Catholicdefender2000 have these misquoted and misinterpreted statements from the Pasugo. But the thing is, is that statements REALLY extracted from the Pasugo? Or just invented by the catholic defenders?? Wait, let say that it is true… So, what?

I mean, what could Mr. Catholicdefender2000 want to put on the registry, in the Philippine government? What we are talking about here in speaking of the “LAW”, is about the REALITY. Can you put on the registry the name “JESUS CHRIST?” hello? What the hell was that? Maybe the employees of the government will just LAUGH on you. In short, If we talk about the law, lets say it is true that it was written that Bro. Felix Manalo founded the INC, so? BUT the teachings of the INC is not that, the one who founded the INC is our Lord Jesus Christ! And that Bro. Felix is God's last messenger (to preach the true GOD's WORDS and not by his own only)... Because in Matthew 16:18 he said "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church…” Ok? Let us proceed…

Catholicdefender2000: Christ promised that the gates of the netherworld (Hell) shall not prevail, why all of a sudden Felix Manalo taught that Hell prevailed against his Church? IS CHRIST A LIAR? Whose teachings are man-made, the Catholic Church or the Iglesia ni Cristo? Let's examine...

“And who formulated all the lessons taught by the ministers, in worship, doctrines or propaganda? It was brother Felix Manalo.” (Pasugo: May 1961, p. 4)
“As a fulfillment of all the prophecies, all teachings implemented by the INK Ministers in worship, doctrines, preaching in towns, only it was brother Felix Manalo who drafted and implementing them.” (Pasugo: 1963, p. 27)

Again, lets say that those statements were TRULY extracted from the Pasugo… Then? Another misunderstanding of Mr. Catholicdefender2000…

Lets say Bro. Felix Manalo really formulated lessons, and some other. SO WHAT??

If Mr. Catholicdefender2000 only knows that INC members believe that Bro. Felix Manalo is God’s Last messenger, so, that is his duty! To preach God’s words and preach the true meaning of the word’s of God interpreted not by SOMEONE ELSE but with the guide of the Holy spirit. It is the lessons taught by the ministers in the worship services, and some others that done by Bro. Felix not the TEACHINGS of the Church! All of the teachings of the INC are all in the bible; please see a minister to prove that!

(it is written in the top of my blog, see a minister in the locale nearest you, I am not the one who studied about the INC, it is them. So please do not intend to say something related on answering all of your questions regarding doctrines and some other about the INC.)

How can you say that? Especially the TEACHINGS were all CHANGED?? And most are just added, formulated, and invented by the emperors, popes and some other in ROME? Yes. The INC admits it! ALWAYS. That the CC in the beginning was the true Church of Christ, but later apostatized because of the next generation authority of the CC who took over after the death of the apostles… that CHANGED everything in the CC. And those doctrines were not of God, but of Man!

(Worshipping/venerating/adoring Statues & Saints, celebrating Christmas and some other that is all came from PAGANS that the CC violated among the commandments of God… Having the history of torture and murder, how can be the CC HOLY??)
