"Ipaglaban mo nang puspusan ang pananampalataya. Panghawakan mong mabuti ang buhay na walang hanggan, dahil diyan ka tinawag ng Diyos nang ipahayag mo sa harap ng maraming saksi ang iyong pananalig kay Cristo." I Tim. 6:12

Who is Jesus?

“But I fear that somehow you will be led away from your pure and simple devotion to Christ, just as eve was deceived by the serpent.

You seem to believe whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach about a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different spirit that the one you received or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.” II cor. 11:3-4

  1. Made lord by God
    - “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36

The Son is always been Lord. There was no point in eternity that he was not Lord. The Son did not become Lord only in Acts 2:36, here is the reason why:

    1 Corinthians 15:47
    New King James Version (NKJV)
47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.
    a. He was already Lord from heaven before his human birth.

    Luke 2:11
    New King James Version (NKJV)
11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
    a. He was already Lord after his human birth.

    Jude 1:4
    GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
4Some people have slipped in among you unnoticed. Not long ago they were condemned in writing for the following reason: They are people to whom God means nothing. They use God’s kindness[a] as an excuse for sexual freedom and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
    a. He is still Lord up to this day in heaven.

So what does it mean when God has made Jesus Lord?
    Answer:
This is not an appointment but rather a declaration.

That is your opinion Mr.Trinidad, and it is your intention by doing so, here is what other translations say:

      New International Version (©2011)
The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.

      New Living Translation (©2007)
Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.

      English Standard Version (©2001)
The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.

      New American Standard Bible (©1995)
The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.

      Holman Christian Standard Bible (©2009)
The first man was from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven.

      International Standard Version (©2012)

      NET Bible (©2006)

      GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
The first man was made from the dust of the earth. He came from the earth. The second man came from heaven.

      American Standard Version
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

      Douay-Rheims Bible
The first man was of the earth, earthly: the second man, from heaven, heavenly.

      Darby Bible Translation
the first man out of the earth, made of dust; the second man, out of heaven.

      English Revised Version
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

      Weymouth New Testament
The first man is a man of earth, earthy; the second man is from Heaven.

Clearly, the SECOND MAN, is FROM HEAVEN. There is no saying that Jesus who is already lord from eternity, is from heaven.

      Answer:
This is not an appointment but rather a declaration.]

The real point here is not about if Jesus is already lord from heaven or eternity or whatsoever, the point here is whether Jesus is made LORD by God or he is already lord by himself.

      The bible tells us:

      World English Bible
"Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified." acts 2:36

God has MADE HIM BOTH LORD AND CHRIST.

"Gill's exposition of the entire bible" said that God the Father constituted and APPOINTED Jesus to be the Messiah(Christ) and Lord:

"that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ; that is, that God the Father had not only constituted and appointed Jesus of Nazareth to be the Messiah, the Lord of lords,..."

What you said here are only opinion of yours.

    2. --Christ was made LORD by God(Father)

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, THAT GOD HATH MADE THE SAME JESUS, WHOM YE HAVE CRUCIFIED, BOTH LORD AND CHRIST.”(Acts 2:36)

--NOBODY made God a LORD. The LORDSHIP of God is inherent in him. (Matt. 11:25, Luke 10:21)On the other hand, Jesus was MADE lord. The LORDSHIP of Christ is not INHERENT IN HIM (Acts 2:36). Therefore, Jesus Christ CANNOT be GOD

  2. CREATED BY GOD
-“…. the "firstborn" of all creation.” Col. 1:15

    Colossians 1:15-18
    New Living Translation (NLT)
    Christ Is Supreme

15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,[a]
16 for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
17 He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.
18 Christ is also the head of the church,
    which is his body.
    He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.[b]
So he is first in everything.

The use of the word "firstborn" here is about supremacy and has something to do with position. It does not mean that the Son was the first one to be created. The "firstborn of all creation" means "supreme or higher over all creation". Consider this:
    Psalm 89:27
    New King James Version (NKJV)
27 Also I will make him My firstborn,
The highest of the kings of the earth.

In fact, if you truly understand Colossians 1:15-18, the Son is a creator rather than a created being.

    1. He is first in everything because he is the "firstborn" in all creation, meanings he is created first not in the literal sense but the plan and purpose to create Christ was first and foremost in God’s mind (john 1:1). He is also "firstborn" among the dead because he is the FIRST man to be raised from the dead.

This is what the bible tells us:

20 But Christ really has been raised from death—the first one of all those who will be raised.
21 Death comes to people because of what one man did. But now there is resurrection from death because of another man.
22 I mean that in Adam all of us die. And in the same way, in Christ all of us will be made alive again.
23 But everyone will be raised to life in the right order. Christ was first to be raised. Then, when Christ comes again, those who belong to him will be raised to life.
24 Then the end will come. Christ will destroy all rulers, authorities, and powers. Then he will give the kingdom to God the Father.
25 Christ must rule until God puts all enemies under his control.
26 The last enemy to be destroyed will be death.
27 As the Scriptures say, “God put everything under his control.” When it says that “everything” is put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself. God is the one putting everything under Christ’s control.
28 After everything has been put under Christ, then the Son himself will be put under God. God is the one who put everything under Christ. And Christ will be put under God so that God will be the complete ruler over everything.

      I Cor. 15: 20-28

He is first in everything so that he will have the supremacy:

18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. I Col. 1:18

If he has the supremacy or that everything will be under his control:

27 As the Scriptures say, “God put everything under his control.” When it says that “everything” is put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself. God is the one putting everything under Christ’s control.
28 After everything has been put under Christ, then the Son himself will be put under God. God is the one who put everything under Christ. And Christ will be put under God so that God will be the complete ruler over everything. I Cor. 15:27-28

CHRIST the creature will be put UNDER GOD the creator, so that GOD WILL BE THE COMPLETE RULER OF EVERYTHING.

Christ was never been a creator. It is only your opinion. Because it is God the FATHER who is the ONLY true CREATOR:

"Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers? Malachi 2:10

    3. creator. If we get the FULL CONTEXT of John 1:3, 1 Cor. 8:6B and Col. 1:16-17, It is stated that GOD(FATHER) created everything THROUGH Christ and FOR CHRIST, WITHOUT CHRIST, there is NOTHING that God CREATED. Unless, TRINATARIANS wants to exclude the FATHER from being the creator.
As Apostle Paul clarify the misinterpreted John 1:3, 1 Cor. 8:6B and Col. 1:16-17 of the TRINATARIANS on Hebrews 1:2

“And now in these last days, God(Father) has spoken to us again through his Son. HE(Father) MADE THE WHOLE WORLD THROUGH HIS(Father) SON(Christ). AND HE(Father) HAS CHOSEN HIS(Father) SON(JFATHER) TO HAVE ALL THINGS.”(Heb. 1:2)

The Bible teaches that the FATHER ALONE is the CREATOR(Deut. 32:6, IS. 64:8, Mal. 2:10, 1 Cor. 8:6a). And he does NOT ACKNOWLEDGED other creator and God beside himself.(Is. 44:24, Is.45:2, Isa.46:9, Is. 44:8, Is. 43:10-11).

How can Trinitarians assume that Jesus is the creator if he is part of those which were created?
"He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, THE FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION" (Col. 1:15)—which clearly indicates that Christ is one of those which were created and therefore not Himself the Creator.”
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD;”(Rev. 3:14)

    4. --of course 1STBORN means PREEMINENCE. But read the whole Col. 1:15, not just the 1stborn. Jesus is labeled as a CREATION, Jesus is part of those which were created.

"He (Christ) is the firstborn OVER ALL CREATION" (Col. 1:15)—which clearly indicates that Christ is one of those which were created and therefore not Himself the Creator.
This also PROOFS that Christ is not pre-existed with the God(FATHER) because someone(God the FATHER) exists first to create Him(Christ).
      Unless u ignore that verse??

1STBORN means PREEMINENCE just like the eldest child who is 1stborn of his/her parents. But u cannot ignore the fact that the eldest child/1stborn came from his/her parents which means he/she is created .

That’s why Jesus said “I CAME FROM THE FATHER(John 8:42)” for he is created by God the FATHER and the 1sborn of all creation(Col. 1:15), so that we may become sons and daughters to God(Heb. 2:11-12, Ps. 22:22).

      That’s why the prophets said
“Have we not all ONE FATHER? hath not one God CREATED us?”(Malachi 2:10)
And for u to realize, God is the creator of all things (Isa. 64:4, 8; 45:18), NOT a 1stborn or beginning of creation.

  4. THE SON IS ADDRESSED TOGETHER WITH THE FATHER AND HOLY SPIRIT AS "LORD ALMIGHTY"
    Isaiah 6:2-3
    New International Version (NIV)
2 Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another:

    “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

THE SON IS ADDRESSED TOGETHER WITH THE FATHER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT AS "LORD GOD ALMIGHTY"
    Revelation 4:8
    New King James Version (NKJV)
8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

    “Holy, holy, holy,
    Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”

THE SON SAID, HE IS ALMIGHTY
    Revelation 1:8
    New King James Version (NKJV)
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

THE SON TOGETHER WITH THE FATHER WERE ADDRESSED AS "LORD GOD ALMIGHTY"
    Revelation 15:3-4
    New King James Version (NKJV)
3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:

“Great and marvelous are Your works,
    Lord God Almighty!
Just and true are Your ways,
    O King of the saints!
4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name?
    For You alone are holy.
For all nations shall come and worship before You,
For Your judgments have been manifested.”

THE WRATH OF THE ALMIGHTY IS A SINGULAR WRATH OF THE FATHER AND THE SON
    Revelation 19:15
    New King James Version (NKJV)
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

    Revelation 6:15-17
    New King James Version (NKJV)
15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

    1. WHO IS SPEAKING IN REVELATION 1:8?

Who is referred to as the Alpha and the Omega, MIGHTY GOD in Revelation 1:8?
      Beginning with Rev. 1:4 (KJV),
      John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

NOTICE IN V. 4 that it refers to "Him who is, and who was, and who is to come." In the Greek, it is ὁ ὢν καὶ ὁ ἦν καὶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος. This is a very important clue to who is talking in v. 8.
      Now, in Rev. 1:5 (KJV),
And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

      Put vv. 4-5 together:
“John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [be] unto you, AND peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; AND from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; AND from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,”

OBSERVE THAT "HE WHO WAS, AND WHO IS, AND WHO IS TO COME" IS DISTINGUISHED FROM "JESUS CHRIST, THE FAITHFUL WITNESS, THE FIRST BEGOTTEN OF THE DEAD, AND THE PRINCE OF THE KINGS OF THE EARTH."

      CONCLUSION:
Therefore, "He who was, and who is, and who is to come on Rev. 1:8" is God the Father, NOT Jesus Christ. As what stated on verse 6
“and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve HIS(JESUS CHRIST) GOD AND FATHER—….“
NOWHERE in NT that Jesus was addressed as MIGHTY. Besides, How can Jesus be MIGHTY if he Himself needed salvation from God(Heb. 5:7) and SUBJECTED to GOD(1 Cor. 15:27-28).

    2. except Revelation 19:15, Revelation 6:15-17 NOWHERE in the verses u quoted proves that Jesus is God. Those other verses u qouted referred to the FATHER ALONE.

    3. The LORD GOF of Isaiah is the FATHER
“Doubtless thou art our FATHER, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our FATHER our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.”(ISAIAH 63:15)

“But now, O LORD, thou art our FATHER; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.”(ISAIAH 64:8)

The Father does not acknowledged any God beside himself (Isaiah 45:21, Isaiah 46:9, Isaiah 44:8, Isaiah 43:10-11), HE stretched forth the heavens ALONE; that spreadeth abroad the earth by HIMSELF.”(Isaiah 44:24)
That’s why our Lord Jesus Christ attested that the FATHER is the Lord.
“At that time Jesus said, "I praise YOU, FATHER, LORD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH”,(Matt. 11:25, Luke 10:21)
Which is ALSO ONE: “Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD”(Mark 11:29 a quotation of Deuteronomy 6:4)
Which is also the ONLY TRUE GOD: “After Jesus finished saying this, he looked up to heaven and said, FATHER, the hour has come. Give glory to your Son, so that the Son may give glory to you. And eternal life means to know you(FATHER), the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you(FATHER) sent.” (John 17:1&3, Good News Translation)

  5. Yet, if we look at Isaiah, the Son is not yet known there. Israel hardly knows God as a Father. It is more of a metaphor because God, like a loving Father, disciplines His people like in the days of wandering in the desert back to the time of Moses.

God is fully known as the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ. No one knows the Father Almighty except the Son (Matthew 11:25). And it is only through the Son that the nations can know the one and only God. Remember what Simeon said about Him when He was still a young child?

Luke 2:32, This is the light of revelation to the Gentiles. This is the glory of your people, Israel

Which concludes that JESUS is no mere man, but that HE IS GOD ALMIGHTY IN HUMAN FORM.

The Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi speaks more of Jesus Christ as He said, "These very Scriptures speak about Me! And yet you are not willing to come to Me in order to have life" (John 5:39-40)

Come to think of it, if Jesus isn't who He says He is, then why approach a mere man to have life eternal? He would either be a liar or a lunatic.

    C.S. Lewis said this one:

You must make a choice: Either this Man is or was the Son of God or a madman or something worst. You can either shut Him up for a fool, kill Him as a demon or kneel at His feet and call Him Lord and God.

There is no mediocrity as far as Jesus of Nazareth is concerned. Its either His claims are true or we have the greatest charlatan in history who founded a religion called Christianity based on His delusions or His deception.

    Jesus said:
Unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins (John 8:24)

Refer to Exodus 3:14-15. The Father is the I AM and so is Jesus.
