Si Kristo tao, si Ka Felix Manalo anghel?

Maraming taong nabubuwang sa pagkakaintindi sa turo sa Iglesia ni Cristo. 

Bakit nabubuwang? 

Dahil hindi nila maintindihan ang totoong turo ng Iglesia ni Cristo tungkol kay Kristo at kay Ka Felix Manalo kung kaya hilo sila sa pagsasabing "ano ba yan, mas dakila pa pala si Manalo kesa kay Kristo kasi si Kristo TAO LANG si Manalo ANGHEL!"

Tanong, TOTOO ba ang kanilang pagkakaintindi at akusasyon na MAS DAKILA, at MAS MATAAS daw ang ranggo diumano ni Ka Felix Manalo sa ating Panginoong Hesukristo na tagapamagitan at tagapagligtas?

Sagot: HINDI. Kailanman ay hindi namin kinilala at kahit kailan ay hinding hindi namin kikilalanin na mas mataas si Ka Felix Manalo sa ating Panginoong HesuKristo!

Klaruhin natin ang mga bagay-bagay....

Ang turo ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa LIKAS NA KALAGAYAN ni Kristo ay TAO. Pag sinabi po naming tao siya, hindi po namin sinasabing TAO "LANG" na parang ordinaryong tao lang dahil kung nagbabasa tayo ng bibliya alam natin na marami siyang ginawa na hindi nagawa o hindi kayang gawin ng ordinaryong TAO. Pero hindi porke nakagawa siya ng mga bagay na hindi kayang gawin ng ordinaryong tao eh DIYOS AGAD.

Bakit?

Dahil tayo mismo ang nakakasaksi na may mga tao din naman ngayon na nakakagawa ng mga bagay bagay na hindi kayang gawin ng ordinaryong tao. Kaya hindi natin pwedeng sabihing DIYOS din sila.

Ang turo naman ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa pagka-anghel ni Ka Felix Manalo ay hindi yung anghel na iniisip nating nakakulay puti na may pakpak. Si Ka Felix Manalo ay tao lang din. Ang sinasabi namin ay siya ang katuparan ng hula bilang pangatlong anghel sa Rev. 9-11, at itong "anghel" na binabanggit sa talatang ito ay hindi namin tinuturing na anghel na kulay puti na may pakpak kundi ang ibig sabihin sa amin nito ay "sugo ng Diyos" o "Messenger of God". 

At hindi porke sinasabi namin na sa Rev. 9-11 at sa Rev. 7:2-3 ay "Messenger of God" ang ibig sabihin nito sa amin hindi namin sinasabi na sa lahat ng buong nilalaman ng bibliya na kapag may "ANGHEL" na nakasulat ay hindi ito yung mga espiritong anghel na nasa langit na ginawa ng Diyos.

Ayon na rin sa Christiananswers.net:

The word “angel” actually comes from the Greek word aggelos, which means “messenger.” The matching Hebrew word mal'ak has the same meaning.  

Sometimes, the Bible uses these words for human beings:

• ordinary people who carry messages (Job 1:14; Luke 7:24; 9:52)
• prophets (Isaiah 42:19; Malachi 3:1)
• priests (Malachi 2:7)
• church leaders (Rev 1:20)

Sometimes, it speaks figuratively of things or events as “messengers”…

• the pillar of cloud (Exodus 14:19)
• pestilence or plagues (2 Samuel 24:16-17)

But it usually describes the whole range of spirits whom God has created, including both good and evil angels, and special categories such as cherubim, seraphim, and the archangel.

Angels are mentioned at least 108 times in the Old Testament and 165 times in the New Testament (Chafer, Systematic Theology, II, 3). Hence, there is ample information available in Scripture to allow us to build a foundation for our knowledge of angelic beings.

Kung sinasabi ninyong mas mataas si Ka Felix Manalo dahil kinikilala namin siyang ANGHEL at si Kristo eh TAO "LANG", eh di mas mataas din pala si John the Baptist kay Kristo dahil siya ay tinawag ding ANGHEL?

Eh ano daw ba ang dapat na maging pagkakaintindi natin dito?

Ayon sa Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible commentary:

"...which last is the true sense of the passage: nor should it be once called in question, when our Lord himself has applied it to John the Baptist; to whom the things said in it perfectly agree. He was an "angel", not by nature, but by office; a "messenger" sent by God,..."

Yun naman pala, hindi naman pala BY NATURE na ANGHEL si John the Baptist kundi MESSENGER pala ang ibig sabihin noon... Kaya nga sa ibang salin ng bibliya eh ganito ang nakasaad:

"This is the one of whom it is written, Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, who shall make ready Your way before You." Matt. 11:10 Amplified bible

Pero dahil gusto ko ay happy kayo, sige sakyan nating yan pagkakaintindi niyo na kesyo si Ka Felix Manalo ay anghel na hindi simpleng "messenger of God" ang ibig sabihin kundi yung espiritung anghel na kulay puti na may pakpak, pero ang tanong, MAS DAKILA BA o MAS MATAAS BA ANG ANGHEL KAY KRISTO?

"Siya ang kaliwanagan ng kaluwalhatian ng Ama at ang ganap na kapahayagan ng pagka-Diyos ng Ama. Siya ang humahawak ng lahat ng bagay sa pamamagitan ng salita ng kaniyang kapangyarihan. Si Ka Felix Manalo nga ba ay isang rapist?

Ano ba ang totoong mga pangyayari?

"Rapist" nga ba talaga si Ka Felix Manalo?

May "rape" ba talagang nangyari o WALA?

 May KATOTOHANAN ba ang affidavit o retraction ni Ka Rosita Trillanes?

Ito ang isyu kay Ka Felix Manalo na hindi mamatay matay, nakakatuwang malaman na next year mag 100 years na ang Iglesia ni Cristo sa Pilipinas hanggang ngayon ay buhay na buhay pa rin ang isyu na ito.

Pero kung tutuusin, naging malaking "ISYU" lang naman ito noong ginamit na ni Mr. Soriano at kanyang mga kampon ang atakeng ito para sirain ang pangalan ni Ka Felix Manalo. 

Naging epektibo ba? 

Naging epektibo naman, lalo na sa pangbebrainwash niya sa kaniyang mga myembro kaya nga hanggang ngayon ay active na active pa rin ang kanyang mga kampon sa paninira sa katauhan ni Ka Felix Manalo, at syempre di naman nagpahuli ang mga Catholic defenders, hindi nila pinalampas ang pagkakataong ito dahil isa sila sa asar na asar sa tagumpay ng Iglesia ni Cristo.

At ang isa pang nakakatuwa dito ay ang pagdidiinan nila sa isyu, na kesyo gawa gawa lang daw ng mga INC members ang retraction, o kaya naman ay napilitan lang daw siya itong gawin. Meron din silang mga pinagpipilitan na kesyo bakit naman ilang taon ang lumipas saka lang siya nagretract eh dapat finafile daw yon bago magdesisyon ang korte blah blah blah...

Para namang buhay na sila noong mga panahon na yon. Para namang meron silang mga ebidensya eh ang pinagbasihan lang naman nila eh yung 2 artikulo ng bombshell. AT NAGMAMAGALING pa talaga sila, para namang mas may alam sila sa nangyari kesa sa Iglesia ni Cristo.

Para mas maintindihan natin ang mga pangyayari, simulan na natin...

Noong 1938/1939, may isang Rosita Trillanes ang gumawa ng isang sulat tungkol sa panghahalay diumano sa kaniya at sa iba pa ni Ka Felix Manalo, ito ay pinakalat sa lahat ng miyembro ng Iglesia ni Cristo hanggang sa itoy malathala sa isang dyaryong tinatawag na "Ing Cawal". Ito ang nakalagay sa kaniyang sulat:

"Mga Kapatid:

Dahil sa pag-ibig ko sa Iglesia at ukol sa inyong kabutihan ay sumulat ako sa inyo upang magtapat ng bagay na talagang nangyari sa akin at ng mga bagay na aking nasaksihan at nalaman sa panahon ng dalawang taong pagkatigil ko sa Central. Ako ay isang dalaga na naging kaanib ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa Batangas. Ako ay kinapootan at itinakwil ng aking mga magulang. Sa paniwala kong ako’y makakatagpo ng pag-aampon ay pumayag ako kay kapatid na Jacinto Torres na dalhin niya ako sa opisina Central. Noong ako ay naroon ay naransan ko ang lubhang napakapait at napakasakit sa buhay ng dalaga gaya noong lapastanganin ako ni Manalo na itinuturing kong isang ama. Noong una ay niligawan niya ako ngunit nang tumanggi ako sa kanyang mga ninanais ay binugbog at hinataw niya ako ng aking ikinawala ng malay-tao. At noong ako’y wala nang malay-tao ay ginawa niya ang kahalayang ibig niya sa akin. Doon ay lubhang naghirap ako dahil sa masamang palakad sa akin, paghataw at pagbabanta na tinatanggap ko kailan ma’t tumututol ako sa mahahalay niyang nais sa akin.

Marami din akong nasaksihang mga ginahasa ni Felix Manalo, ang iba ay mga dalaga; ang iba ay mga asawa ng mga kaanib; samantalang ang isa ay asawa ng isang Ministro. Sinabi ni Manalo sa akin ang tungkol sa mga ibang kanyang ginawan ng kahalayan, noong ako’y kanyang hinihikayat na pumayag sa kanyang mga ninanais. Sinabi niya sa akin ang tungkol sa tatlumpung mga babaing kanyang kanyang pinagsamantalahan. Hindi ko maaaring ihayag ang kanilang mga pangalan upang pagtakpan ang kanilang karangalan, ngunit madalas silang nagpupunta sa Opisina. Sa piling ko ay pinagsikapan niyang ginahasa ang isang dalaga na pagkatapos ay nagbuntis at iyon ay nangyaring napapunta din sa opisina central ukol sa tanging pagkakataong may kaugnayan sa Manalo. Marahil ang dahilan kung kaya si Liloy ay nagbitiw, ay sapagkat sinikap ni Manalong pilitin si Amanda. Ang lahat ng mga itong kanyang nilapastangan ay nangatatakot magsabi sapagkat sila’y binalaang papatayin kung sila’y magsasabi, katulad ng ginawa niya kay Basilia Santos ng Paco, na itinuturo niya si Manalo, bilang ama ng kanyang dalawang anak. Naging balitang-balita ito sa Paco.

Bago nagpunta si Manalo sa America, ay dinala niya ako sa bahay ng mga Protacio, sa Pasay. Ngunit noong wala pang isang buwan ay dumating siya upang kunin niya akong pabalik, nangangambang baka sinabi ko sa mga Protacio ang lahat ng kanyang inasal at ginawa sa akin; noong ako’y tumangging sumama sa kanya ay binalaan niya ako ng masama at tinakot niya ako ng isang rebolber at sa pamamagitan ng lakas ay pinilit niya akong sumama sa kanya. Pagkatapos nito ay pinalayas niya sa Iglesya ang mga mag-anak ng Protacio at pinaratangan ng kabulaanan.

Kanyang ginugugol ang lahat niyang buwanang sahod na P 1,300.00 ukol sa mga babae at sa mga mahahalay na mga gawain, samantalang ang abang manggagawa ng Iglesya ay tumatanggap lamang ng P5.00, P 10.00, P 15.00, P 20.00 isang buwan. Ang nangyayari sa lahat ninyong mga abuloy na iniaalay sa Dios, ay nagpupunta sa kanya at bagay na kanyang ginugugol ukol sa lahat niyang mahahalay na gawa. Sinabi ko kay kapatid na Doro ang lahat ng bagay na ito noong si Manalo ay naroon pa sa America.Sa ganitong paraan ay pababayaan ba ninyong pagmalabisan ni Manalo ang mga kaanib at tanggapin ang Iglesya sa ngalan ng Dios…? Hindi ba ninyo iniibig ang Iglesya…? Ang inyong asawa at mga anak na babae ay nasa panganib sa kasawian sa mahahalay na pita ng taong iyan na ipinalalagay at kinikilala ninyong bilang tagapagturo ng mga salita ng Dios.

Ipinagtatapat ko sa inyo ang lahat ng bagay na ito, ipinauubaya ko sa inyo ang kapasiyahan na magagawa ninyo kung tunay na iniibig ninyo ang Iglesya at ang Dios. Sa paghimok sa babaeng iniibig niya maging siya ay isang dalaga o isang may asawa, ay binabanggit niya ang maraming asawa ni Solomon at inaangkin niyang ang taong sinugo ng Dios, ay dapat gawing maligaya at ang pagpayag na pagsang-ayon sa kanyang mga ninanais ay isang kapuri-puring gawa sa mga mata ng Dios. Matatanggap ba ng inyong mabuting diwa ang walang kaayusang ito…? Nasa inyo ang kapasiyahan.

Ang inyong kapatid na naging sawingpalad dahil sa malabis ng pagtitiwala."

Ang tanong, bakit kaya niya nagawa ito?

Yun naman pala, isa siya sa mga natiwalag, at dahil nga dito sa ginawa niya siya ay kinasuhan ng LIBEL ni Ka Felix Manalo. Nanalo si Ka Felix sa kaso kaya nakulong si Rosita Trillanes ayon sa desisyon ng korte:

Ngunit umapela si Rosita Trillanes sa mas mataas na hukuman, ang Court of Appeals. Dito ay pinanigan ng korte si Rosita Trillanes dahil kinlaim nya na "I was motivated by good intentions". 

Kumbaga kaya daw niya ginawa ang sulat na iyon ay para magbigay babala lamang diumano sa mga kaanib, na wala siya intensyong masama o manira ng puri ng iba. Basahin natin at unawain ang mga kadahilanan kung bakit pinanigan ng korte si Rosita Trillanes:

Isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit pinanigan ng korte si Rosita ay dahil nga daw motivated siya by good intentions. Isa pang dahilan ay dahil pangatlong kaso na daw ito kung saan nagsampa ng libel si Ka Felix sa iba pang tao, at kung saan daw ang isa sa mga kinasuhan niya ay na acquit. Muli, ang usapin dito ay kung paninirang puri ba o hindi ang nasa sulat ni Rosita Trillanes.

Ano ang sumunod na mga pangyayari?

Noong May 10, 1951 ay gumawa ng affidavit si Rosita Trillanes sa tagalog. Nagkaroon naman ng english version nito noong Nov. 21, 1952, ito ang nakasaad:

AFFIDAVIT

I, ROSTIA TRILLANES, Filipino, of legal age, married a resident of and with a postal address at 639 Piy Margal, Manila, upon being duly sworn according to law depose and say:

1. That I am the same ROSITA TRILLANES who was accused of libel by Mr. Felix Manalo before the Court of First Instance of the City of Manila, in the month of September in the year 1939;

2. That I was convicted by the Court of First Instance for that crime upon my failure to prove the truth thereof, said conviction having been published by the Taliba, on January 4, 1941;

3. That I appealed from the decision of the said Court of First Instance to the Court of Appeals because of my fear that upon my failure to pay the fine imposed threat that I would be imprisoned;

4. That concerning that libelous letter I wrote and for which I accused by Mr. Felix Manalo, I hereby state and so declare, that all matters therein stated and written areall false and pure fabrications without any truth whatsoever;

5. That the letter and all those matters stated therein was fabricated by Messrs Raymundo Mansilungan, Tedoro Briones and Cirilo Gonzales who induced me to sign the same upon their representation that it would be shown only to the brethren of the Church of Christ (IGLESIA NI CRISTO) to convince them to revolt against the administration of Mr. Felix Manalo, in retribution against him for expelling us from the Church;

6. That together with Messrs Raymundo Mansilungan, Tedoro Briones and Cirilo Gonzales, we were expelled from the Church for Acts and behaviors contrary to the doctrines of the Church;

7. That contrary to my expectation, my companions above mentioned not only showed the letter to the brethren in the Church, but published the same in a Pampango Newspaper, entitled “Ing Cawal”, whose editor at the time was Salvador Tumang, and as a consequence thereof, Mr Felix Manalo filed a libel suit against me and against Salvador Tumang and Cirilo Gonzales, resulting in our conviction,

8. That after my conviction I appealed the case to the Court of Appeals and by claiming that I was motivated by good intentions I was able to acquit myself (see Official Gazette Vol. 1, July 1942 – No. 8180, April 21, 1942), although, since then and up to the present time, I have been bothered continuously by remorse and a guilty conscience;

9. That I have therefore executed the foregoing affidavit to confirm the truth of all I haves stated above and for such other purposes for which the same could be availed of to right the wrong and injustice I have committed against Mr. Felix Manalo aboutwhose integrity and character I have the highest of regard and respect.Furthermore, I have executed the same without any consideration whatsoever, without having been induced by any one, except for the reasons I have stated, and without mental reservation whatsoever.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have signed this affidavit, and affixed my right hand thumb mark below that of my signature at the left margin of the first pageand at the bottom hereof, to remove any doubt about the authenticity of this instrument, this 21st day of November 1952, in the City of Manila, Philippines.

Ang ibig sabihin lamang nito ay WALANG KATOTOHANAN ang mga akusasyon na ibinintang kay Ka Felix Manalo kahit pa pumanig kay Rosita Trillanes ang korte noon. Katunayan, si Ka Rosita Trillanes ay nagbalik loob sa Iglesia ni Cristo at namatay hawak ang tungkulin ng pagiging diakonesa.


Tanong: may "rape" o wala?

Sagot: WALA. Dahil itoy paratang lamang kay Ka Felix Manalo kaya nga sa huli ay nagretract din si Ka Rosita Trillanes at inilahad niya ang tunay na mga pangyayari. Ano man ang sabihin ng mga di kaanib ng INC na ipinipilit nilang totoo daw na may "rape" nga, halatang mga opinyon na lang nila ang mga ito, gusto nilang ipagpilitan kasi si Mr. Soriano, mga paring katoliko, at mga pastor protestante ay may mga kasong rape, iniisip siguro nila na magiging patas kung pati si Ka Felix ay naiugnay din sa rape (kahit napatunayang walang katotohanan).


Tanong: Totoo ba ang ginawang affidavit ni Ka Rosita Trillanes?

Sagot: OO. May ginawang research si Mr. Joseph J. Kavanagh na taga Ateneo de Manila University. Ang mga litrato sa itaas ay sa libro niya galing. At siya mismo ang nagpatunay na meron ngang "retraction" na ginawa si Ka Rosita na napublish pa nga sa Pasugo Issue November 1952.

Wala pong katotohanan na "rapist" si Ka Felix Manalo dahil kung totoo man ang mga paninira sa kaniya ng mga natiwalag na myembro ng Iglesia ni Cristo kung kayat silay kinasuhan ng LIBEL, sana ay sila na mismo ang NAGSAMPA NG KASONG RAPE tutal marami sila kaya paniguradong malakas ang kanilang kaso. Isa pa, kung itoy totoo, BAKIT HININTAY PA NI ROSITA TRILLANESS NA MATIWALAG SILA SAKA LAMANG SILA MAGPAPAKALAT NG KANIYANG SULAT SA DIUMANOY PANGHAHALAY NG KA FELIX MANALO?

At hindi po naiugnay kailanman si Ka Felix Manalo sa KASONG RAPE, kundi sa KASONG LIBEL lamang na kanyang isinampa sa mga nag akusa sa kaniya. 

Dahil ang totoong may mga kasong rape ay ang mga Catholic Priests, Protestant Pastors ibang religious leaders at syempre si Mr. Eliseo Soriano. Isearch nyo lang sa google at malalaman nyo ang sinasabi ko. YAN PO ANG KATOTOHANAN.

Kaya nga ang dating tumutuligsa sa INC na si Ka Rey Ismael na dating natiwalag na INC minister kung kaya lumipat sa ang dating daan, eto ang kaniyang sinabi:

Recently, the group of Soriano added a tv station where they broadcast their program. And it is noticeable how they repeatedly replay the negative comments I said against the Iglesia ni Cristo back when I was still with them in their group.

For the benefit of those who had just now seen those comments, I thought it appropriate and timely that I should again face the audience so that I can air my side of this issue.

My fellow citizens, there's nothing new concerning the things Mr Eli Soriano hurl(sic) at me. I've already answered of of those issues in their entirety. Those comments were made against my will. I was forced to make those comments and were only dictated to me by the leadership. And because in those days I had no option but to say on air those things which they wanted me to say. That's why I left their group and tried my best to go back to the Iglesia ni Cristo so I can make right what I did wrong.

One of those things I say on air was the issue concerning Rosita Trillanes. They say in their program that we (Iglesia ni Cristo) do not dare touch that issue. We've (InC) already responded to that, a while back. Not just me, but even Bro Paul Guevarra answered that. Even Maximo Bularan. Even then, when they we're forcing me to say those things, I refused. I told them 'I know that case'. She (Trillanes) was sued by Bro Felix Manalo and they were convicted, she and her accomplishes. There even came a time when she (Trillanes) retracted. Why would I repeat something that's not true?

In August 1919 Manalo visited all local congregations before departing for the United States to advance his Bible studies. He advised the brethren to keep united and protect one another in his absence. One day in September that year he sailed for the U.S. and stayed at Berkeley, California, burying himself in Bible research and studies, and attending classes in a school of religion. When he returned in 1921, he found the Church rocked by an incipient revolt led by Teofilo Ora and Januario Ponce, Church workers who had been left out in the 1919 ordination.

Assisted by Basilio Santiago, another church worker, Ora and Ponce attacked Manalo for alleged extravagance and immorality. Knowing the existence of the Church itself was in danger, Manalo acted decisively and called an emergency meeting of all ministers in the Central office in Gagalandgin, Tondo, with Justino Casanova presiding. Manalo defended himself by belying the charges and presenting supporting documents. Then in a division of the house, he won decisively.

PINAGTIBAY ng Court of Appeals (CA) ang warrant of arrest laban kay Bro. Eliseo Eli Soriano, pinuno ng Ang Dating Daan makaraang ibasura ng CA 12th Division ang petition for certiorari nito kaugnay sa dalawang kasong rape.

Sa 28 pahinang desisyon na isinulat ni AJ Angelita Gacutan, lumitaw na depektibo o hindi authenticated ang isinumite ni Soriano na Special Power of Attorney para kay Danilo Navales para sa pagsasampa ng nasabing petisyon.

Bukod dito, humina na rin ang standing ni Soriano sa korte dahil sa ginawa nitong pag-alis sa bansa noong Disyembre 14, 2005 na nagresulta sa pagkabigo nitong dumalo sa arraignment noong June 2, 2009.

Pinagbasehan din ng CA ang kanilang desisyon ang SC rulling sa kasong People vs Ang Gioc na sinasabing nawalan na ng karapatan para umapela ang isang akusado kapag umalis ng bansa.

Complainant sa kaso ang isang Danilo Veridiano. Sec. Gen. ng Ang Dating Daan na nagsampa ng kasong rape laban kay Soriano sa Macabebe, Pampanga RTC.

Is there religious dynasty in the INC? Why the INC is governed by the Manalos? Is the INC owned by the Manalos? Why the executive ministers after Bro. Felix Manalo were his son and grandson? Is it not unfair to other ministers if the next executive minister of the INC after Bro. Eduardo will be his son or another Manalo again?


ANSWER:


To make the answer short, the Iglesia ni Cristo members HAVE NO PROBLEM if all of our executive ministers were Manalos. There is no dynasty and no unfairness in the INC. If there are people who HAVE PROBLEM with that, they are the jealous nonmembers and not us. WE NEVER COMPLAIN who the next executive minister will be, because WE TRUST them, we BELIEVE in them, and we have FAITH in them.


Is there dynasty in the church?

NONE. Bro. Erano Manalo and Bro. Eduardo Manalo were elected by church ministers, there is an election on who will be the next executive minister.

Were the division ministers wrong that they elected Bro. Erano Manalo and Bro. Eduardo Manalo as executive ministers?

No. Because of the leadership of Bro. Erano Manalo, the Iglesia ni Cristo had established local congregations abroad and in his time 50 locales are being dedicated to God yearly. While the present executive minister, who is Bro. Eduardo Manalo dedicates more or less a hundred locales yearly, and more districts abroad are being created.

Do you think the INC will have these achievements if they did not become executive ministers?

Some contributions of Bro. Erano Manalo to the church were:

Infrastructure: Central Temple, Central Office, INC museums, Tabernacle, New Era University, New Era General Hospital, FYM Memorial Puericulture center and maternity clinic, Housing projects (for ministers and volunteer workers) and Resettlement projects.

On the 46 years leadership of Bro. In the would-be-3 years leadership of Bro. Eduardo, he had established an INC activity which is Unity games, created 5 districts abroad with inaugurations of 3 new bigger edifices for the former districts. In present, the church is now in 100 countries and territories with members consisting of 110 nationalities and ethnicities. The districts in the Philippines alone is now 111, he also led the first ordination of ministers and the first general conference of ministers outside the Philippines.


Succession crisis in other churches

Succession for me, is a period of difficult times of a church because new leader, means new kind of leadership, like in any democratic country, new president means new administration, how beautiful the past administration was, the present and the future of the country always DEPENDS on who will be the next leader is. Fortunately, the Iglesia ni Cristo had executive ministers that have the same goals and leadership, succession and/or election did not became a problem and did not make any negative effects in the church. Not like other churches like the LDS church that had succession crisis:

For roughly six months after Smith's death, several people competed to take over his role. Another example is the Jehova's witnesses:

Also happened on the "Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Suhay ng Katotohanan", the church where Mr. Eliseo Soriano was expelled and then founded his own church now called Members Church of God International:

"In 1969, Nicolas Perez, who was then the church's Presiding Minister, bestowed upon Soriano the title Minister making him the only minister in the Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Suhay ng Katotohanan at that time. Rumors were circulating that Soriano is going to be Perez's successor.
After the death of Nicholas Perez, a woman named Levita Gugulan was appointed by a Board of Directors to lead the Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Suhay ng Katotohanan (Church of God in Christ Jesus, the Pillar and Support of the Truth) as the Church Presiding Minister. Eliseo Soriano was a signatory on July 11, 1975 to the appointment of Gugulan. A month after, he again signed a memorandum stating that anyone who opposes their Church administration will be suspended and expelled.

On January 2, 1976, Eliseo Soriano was then appointed by Levita Gugulan as one of their church’s Board of Directors. There were fifteen members of the Board. On February 21, 1976, he was expelled together with sixteen other members for inciting rebellion inside the church and teaching doctrines contrary to their beliefs. Soriano maintains that he was not expelled but voluntarily left his church as he firmly believes that a woman should not lead the church according to the bible. A crisis also happened in an election of Pope after the death of Catholic Church's pope who is Liberius:

The succession crisis
"In the early Church, new Bishops of Rome were elected or chosen by the clergy and the people of the diocese in the presence of the other bishops in the province, which was the manner customarily used in other dioceses. While this simple method worked well in a small community of Christians unified by persecution, as the congregation grew in size, the acclamation of a new bishop was fraught with division, and rival claimants and a certain class hostility between patrician and plebeian candidates unsettled some episcopal elections. At the same time, 4th-century emperors expected each new pope-elect to be presented to them for approval, which sometimes led to state domination of the Church's internal affairs.
On the death of Liberius on 24 September 366, one faction supported Ursinus (or Ursicinus), who had served as deacon to Liberius, while another faction, previously loyal to the Antipope Felix II, supported Damasus. The upper-class partisans of Felix supported the election of Damasus, but the opposing supporters of Liberius, the deacons and laity, supported Ursinus. The two were elected simultaneously (Damasus' election was held in San Lorenzo in Lucina) in an atmosphere of rioting. Supporters already clashed at the beginning of October. Such was the violence and bloodshed that the two prefects of the city were called in to restore order, and after a first setback, when they were driven to the suburbs and a massacre of 137 was perpetrated in the basilica of Sicininus (the modern Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore), the prefects banished Ursinus to Gaul. There was further violence when he returned, which continued after Ursinus was exiled again.
Church historians such as St. Jerome and Rufinus, championed Damasus. At a synod in 378, Ursinus was condemned and Damasus exonerated and declared the true pope. The former antipope continued to intrigue against Damasus for the next few years and unsuccessfully attempted to revive his claim on Damasus's death. Ursinus was among the Arian party in Milan, according to Ambrose.
This dissension climaxed with a riot which led to a three-day massacre and to the rare intervention of Emperor Valentinian I to uphold public order. Damasus prevailed, but only with the support of the city prefect. Once he was securely consecrated Bishop of Rome, his men attacked Ursinus and his remaining supporters who were seeking refuge in the Liberian basilica, resulting in a massacre of 137 supporters of Ursinus. Damasus was also accused of murder before a later prefect, but his friends secured the personal intervention of the emperor to rescue him from this humiliation. The reputations of both Damasus and the Roman church in general suffered greatly due to these two unseemly incidents.

These are just some examples of churches that had succession crisis, may it be because of crisis in the election of the next leader or because of a different kind of leadership of the next successor of the church.


The Present Executive Minister --Bro. Eduardo Manalo

What do you think is another reason why Bro. Eduardo was unanimously elected by the district ministers to be the successor of Bro. Erano Manalo?

For me, I think it is because the son of Bro. Felix who is Bro. Erano was successful on his leadership in the church so they taught Bro. Erano's son will also successful on his leadership, besides on the reason of his great skills. Another reason is that Bro. Eduardo was blessed by Bro. Felix Manalo himself, while he is in sickbed:

"Brother Felix was already on his sick bed when one day he sent for his grandson, "Eddie," who was barely seven years old and at the time, was playing in the yard. When Eddie entered the room, Brother Felix asked his grandson to kneel, and then he placed his hands over the child's head and blessed him in front of several witnesses. Whoever will be the next executive minister that the district ministers be voted, it is God's will and we respect that even if it will be another Manalo, because what's important are the contributions they made in the church, and not the PRIDE or HONOR of their clan. Again, there is no PROBLEM and it is not a big deal for us if the next executive minister after Bro. Eduardo is his son or another Manalo again.

Born on January 2, 1925, Ka Erdie took over the church on the death on April 12, 1963, of his father INC founder Felix Y. Manalo. The officials and members of the INC looked upon Ka Erdie, who followed the example of his father, as their guiding light and inspiration.

MANILA, Philippines — The first church of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) was established in Punta, Santa Ana, Manila, on July 27, 1914.
