Is it unfair if some companies prefer Iglesia ni Cristo members?

Some nonmembers are complaining about the companies which prefer Iglesia ni Cristo members, and give other benefits like being regular to the work and so on. I just dont understand why they think negatively about it and say its unfair and they will blame the Iglesia ni Cristo instead of those companies.

Let us read the answer in the Pasugo Magazine:


Question: Does your church, in any way, have business ties with companies? Why would they prefer hiring members of your church over nonmembers? Dont you think this practice is unfair to those who do not belong to your church?


Answer: In her attempt to help jobless but qualified members of the Iglesia ni Cristo to find jobs and become productive citizens, the church has put up the JOB PLACEMENT OFFICE (JPO) now operating in the central office compound in Diliman, Quezon City. This office coordinates with the companies that are interested in hiring our brethren into their work force . The brethren, on the other hand, are being informed about these job opportunities.

After careful screening of Job applicants, through the JPO, the church recommends members who qualify for the positions. This ensures the companies the service they desire from those who are accepted in the workplace.

The fact that the members of the Iglesia ni Cristo are known to be truly disciplined and industrious, being guided by biblical teachings on the practice of labor, may probably have contributed greatly to the alleged preference of company personnel managers.

There is no unfairness practiced here as far as the church is concerned. The church merely helps by informing her members about job opportunities and by coordinating with the companies concerned. Members of the church who get recommendation to work also undergo the same series of tests and interviews intended for all job applicants regardless of their religious affiliation.

I know nothing that there are jobs from small to big companies, that accept ONLY Iglesia ni Cristo members, and that there are job positions that intended ONLY for Iglesia ni Cristo members. THERE ARE NONE.

They may PREFER INC members but they do not require their employees to be INC members, and being an INC member is not their no.1 QUALIFICATION for the jobs as they still accept applicants who are not members of the church.

Let us face the reality, some companies prefer INC members because the church prohibits its members on joining labor unions, as of biblical matters. Ive shown you the fact because im not bias. But that's not the only advantage they will get from INC members, they are known from being hardworking and does have discipline:

I am not saying that Catholics and Protestants are not industrious and doesnt have discipline, and i am not saying that ALL INC MEMBERS have discipline and are industrious. Its just that, most people (open minded people) have good impression about INC members.

I just clarify these things because i know some here will react^^

I wonder why nonmembers, mostly Catholic react that way like saying the INC is unfair just because big companies like SM malls prefer INC members. If it should be the way we should think, i think we should also react on how Catholic schools abroad discriminate applicants who are non catholics:

The job market is tough right now. I can tell you from experience that finding a teaching job in certain markets is *really* hard right now since many districts are laying people off left and right.
Some teachers in Canada are resorting to extreme tactics to secure a position: They’re pretending to be Catholic:

“I don’t particularly like going (to mass) every Sunday, but if this is what I have to do, then I’ll do it,” said a Toronto-area woman, who didn’t want to be identified.
“I just really want to be in a career. I just want it so badly.”
The teacher said she has also been going to confession regularly and speaking with a priest on a weekly basis in order to receive the documents she needs to apply to the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
She is not Catholic. In fact, she doesn’t consider herself religious.

“I know what I believe in. I support abortion. I support gay marriage,” she added.
“I’m going through what I have to go through to get a job. I know it sounds bad.”

My favorite quotation has to be this one:

“I haven’t gone for my, um, what do you call it the bread thing yet… Communion. I’m nervous about it,” she added.

Ah yes, the bread thing…

Under the rules for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, all teaching personnel and others who work directly with children need to be Catholic.

It’s really incredible about Catholic schools. You have to adhere to the faith. (Or pretend to, anyway.) But it’s very telling to me that they don’t say “all teaching personnel… must be certified in the subject area in which they teach.” Because that’s not a necessity at many Catholic schools. It’s part of the reason I’m amazed some parents choose to send their kids to Catholic schools when there are perfectly decent public schools nearby.
As I read the article, I just keep thinking of how desperate for work some of these people have to be. At least where I’m from, Catholic school teachers at some schools make less than half of what a public school teacher makes. You don’t get the same benefits, either.
(Update: I’m told by commenters that in Ontario, Canada, Catholic schoolteachers make as much or more than their public school counterparts. The Catholic schools are also publicly funded and they actually receive more money per student than public schools. That’s pretty messed up…)
Here’s a random hypothetical for you: You’re an atheist teacher who can’t get a job in the public schools (for whatever reason). Would you take a job at a Catholic school if you had the opportunity?

Religion should not be a hindrance for anyone who's applying for a job, there might be some events that a particular group of people are preferred to get the job, that's not being unfair, the employers or the companies have their reasons why and we should respect it.
